I know it's because Dinah's on all the time, and Blake isn't, anymore.
Which sucks, because Liz is a trouper and is there with everything they
need whenever they need it. Just watch her work this Jeffrey story, the
death of everyone's career except for Laura Wright.
It's interesting that Van and Dinah don't need a man to define them on the
show (they can change partners), but Holly needs Roger and Blake needs
Ross, period.
If only Ed were around, Holly might actually see the light of day. But I
don't blame Peter Simon for getting fed up.
I just hate that Holly doesn't matter since Roger died. She shouldn't just
be his adjunct.
With Van's it's the other way around: Matt never appears except as a talk
to for Dinah or Van, even when Van isn't on contract.

This is an interesting analysis. I do have some questions though.
Didn't Holly have storylines after Roger left the show? She was
married to Fletcher and then went crazy when he left and took their
daughter with him, I believe. More recently I thought she and
Sebastian were very interesting until they wrote him into a corner and
made him disappear.
Also, having seen Blake with Philip and Alan-Michael, I have trouble
seeing her as defined by Ross. Of course, that doesn't mean TPTB
think about things the way I do.
I wish Holly, Vanessa and Blake were all on more. And Matt and Ed for
that matter. :)

: They also started a storyline involving her and Alan that was dropped

And remember the picnics with Billy? That was before Ed came back the
second to last time, and didn't stay.
: If anyone still represents old guard GL, it's Holly and it is shameful than
: TPTB don't realize what a treasure she is.
Very much so.
: As for Maureen Garrett, she has gone on with her life, starting her own
: business, I believe. Don't recall what though.
That's nice to hear.

Roger was still on the show (or at least not officially severed yet), at
the end in the person of Dennis Parlato rather than Michael Zaslow, during
that time. Fletcher left her because she was seeing Roger again, and
couldn't promise to stop.
Then she went crazy a very, very long time later, turning out to be the
Springfield stalker threatening bad moms (including her own daughter),
until Reva talked her down from (I think) driving a bus full of kids off a
bridge. This was not a very good period to be Holly.

In a story that was about Sebastian, as Roger's son, picking up where Roger
left off, and giving us closure on Roger, and then gone again. I didn't
find they'd written him into a corner. What'd he do, kill Tony? Big loss.
They just wrote him off, period.

Has she done anything other than have scenes with Ross in years? The whole
Ben/Ross thing was a story, and the stalker that Ross developed from
teaching was too, and occasional forays into her literary career, but
Philip and Alan-Michael was a whole different world (and different Blake)
ago.

Agreed. That's all I'm saying.

Well, locking Holly and Michelle in a cage for weeks was kind of a
corner in my book. I didn't even remember the Tony thing, in fact, I
had to stop and think about what you were talking about! I guess I
regained those brain cells I lost during the whole Tony, Michelle,
"Light" story.

I have enjoyed her friendship with Harley and Cassie, though.

LOL.
He didn't kill Tony. Tony fell off a cliff after a fight with Danny. I
think. Or both Michelle and Tony fell off and Danny could only save
one so Tony let go. I'd forgotten how much I couldn't stand Michelle
and Tony.
Sebastian killed that guy who knew that Alan had shot Phillip. He was
a doctor maybe? This is when Harley and Gus were on the run and
staying on that soap set.
I really had liked Sebastian and Holly's interactions. Despite the
cage nonsense.

But wasn't Tony like horribly injured or snakebit or something on the
island, searching for Michelle? I know he came there and confronted
Sebastian.

That was later, though, when Sebastian was trying to worm his way into
Spaulding as Alan's flunky. It didn't last long, and Sebastian washed his
hands of the whole thing.

I think she remembers Hart, but not Sebastian at this point.

Maybe in time, we'll all heal. :)
What I remember most about that story was that Holly wore a really
flattering green wrap dress (maybe a Diane von Furstenburg?) that was very
popular amongst celebrities that year.
And Tony grew a beard, which was kinda hot.

Me too, though I don't think it happens enough to really keep it
convincing. Why can't they put HER with Frank now? Police cheif dates
mayor's widow? It writes itself! Somebody should be giving Olivia a run
for her money other than dull Ava.
Shawn H.
That's right. Tony was hurt and Michelle helped him after Sebastian's
people found him.
Tony didn't die then. It was later and had nothing to do with
Sebastian.

Oh, right. He kidnapped Lizzie who made herself so annoying that he
gave up and let her go. Was that the last we saw of him?

:)
Maybe Sebastian can come back, expose Jeffrey's past and help her win
the election.

Yep, I remember now. Sort of. I didn't care when Tony died, but I liked
him on the island being all "castaway."

Yes! That was a funny scene. If there's one thing that Lizzie could do, it
was be annoying. We're confusing the two stories because both involved
Sebastien threatening people in aircraft, I think.

Maybe he can *kill* Jeffrey, and she becomes mayor by default!

Oh, I see. You're looking for ways to redeem Sebastian. ;)

He was on the Spaulding jet and opened the cockpit door and said to
the pilot "Just get me out of here".

OMG, someone else who could be behind "Springfield Burns"!
