You noticed to? Shit I thought she was trying to imitate Gwen.

<Did anyone else think Barbara was talking like something was wrong with
her mouth?>
Yes! I was just about to post about this myself. And also it didn't
seem to happen for the whole show, only at the end. I started to wonder
if she had hurt herself during taping, off camera. Weird.

very noticable
maybe she had work on her teeth and was still under novacaine effects

That's exactly how it seemed to me, serious dental work between scenes. <G>
She was making those slurpy sounds that people make when part of their mouth
and/or lips are still asleep or just waking up!

A few years ago we noticed that Roger on GL seemed to be talking a little
oddly. I like the dentist idea or the injuring herself idea. Please nothing
worse.
Yes, I noticed it as well. I would have liked a line of dialog.
"Excuse me Cleo, I just had a root canal, and I am not in the mood."
However, I did like how Barbara was gracious to Cleo.

Yes, I got that as well. It almost sounded as though she'd had some dental
work done, or some dentures or implants put in. It's probably why she only
had a scant few lines in the ep.
D.
Few lines? Maybe it was because I was noticing the dental business,
but she seemed to have quite a few lines. There was a long scene with
Craig and then more with Paul and Will and Gwen.

Someone slap it up on YouTube, lol. I've got to see this.

Isn't it amazing how a simple line would have fixed it? I found
myself distracted by her speech and I don't think I would have if it
had just been quickly addressed.
Am I crazy to think that if it had been a scene with Lucinda, Liz
would have ad-libbed it?
KC
I didn't see the eppy. I'm only reading about what transpired on the
show in this newsgroup. When I saw the subject line for this thread,
my mind *immediately* went to a worst-case Michael Zaslow influenced
scenario. I also hope it's nothing serious, because I think that that
would be too much for some of us fans to handle (while realizing it
would be a HELL of a lot worse for CZP and her family and friends).

Nope, not at all, and even though I didn't see the episode in
question, I wouldn't have had a problem with the improv of EH doing
some such thing as that. She's one day-timer who improvs QUITE well,
IMNSHO.

If Barbara is still Colleen ZEnk then she has had something o about her
mouth
for years. Like one side is frozen.
I remember her making a "cute haircut" comment when one of her scene
partners suddenly had a new hairstyle. It instantly made the rest of
the scene natural and believable.

Here is Tuesday's ep, where it was less noticable than today, but
you'll here it. It's the "s" that sounds like "sh".

Oh yeah! Sounds like she has a gumball in her mouth and isn't the tone of her
voice off a bit, too? A bit deeper? Maybe she had an oral injury (geez, that
sounds dirty).
Hmm, well, this is something totally new. But, then, I've never seen what
you describe either.
