towards the stage she embraced Susan who appeared to have very little hair
on her head?
Is she sick or what?
Or is that a wig we see her with EVERYDAY? If it is................ it is a
GOOD ONE.

I've seen it spikier, for sure, but I think it was at its spikiest 3
years ago & a little softer last year & a little shorter this year.
I'm guessing that as fine & thin as it must be that it's a trick to
get it just so. Although why the B&B hair people wouldn't do it for
her regularly I can't imagine. Could've just been the weather change,
even, since it is cold & damp here.

Happens every single year when people see what Flannery really looks
like when she's being herself & not Stephanie. Some of us think she
looks great & is one classy dame & others think ... as you do.

My reason to start the thread was out of concern NOT spite. She is one of my
favorites
and I was concerned about her. I was also glad that Jennifer won as well.
Did anyone else notice
her embarassment early in the show when Wayne Brady was talking about her
storyline
with Ridge? She seems like someone so talented and yet she doesn't realize
it. I also felt
during her acceptance speech she could have had a little more eye contact
with the television
audience. She's young and that will come in time. All in all I think B&B did
quite well, even
against their sister soap Y&R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Susan Flannery is openly a lesbian so she wears her hair short in a dyke sort
of way. As far as the balding, maybe it's the male hormones she acquired over
the years.
Stefanie Forrester is not a lesbian so she has to be presented more femininely
on the show with hair extensions, etc.
top. The style she wears shows that more. I really think she looks younger
without the wig. If she wore her hair in a different style it could be ratted
some
and even a little Topek put on it and that would cut the shinny scalp and it
makes
it appear like you have more hair.
Most of the stars use hair pieces to
make it look more full. Ivy
Whether she's a lesbian or not - her hair syle was not becoming last night.
Perhaps she should consider wearing a wig or extensions for live tv
appearances? I really like Susan Flannery and believe she has great talent
as an actress and as the director of many of the episodes. But, it is a
little disconcerting to see her with this Butch hair cut.
Every year that Susan is at the Emmies I look for this discussion like
clockwork. Next year she should try a mohawk...that would really get the
tongues wagging.

I think it would be fun just to get my hair done with a GOOD hair
piece just once. I saw a woman in the airport one time with WONDERFUL
hair, but I was pretty sure it was not her hair. She looked awesome.
>I have read on a gay and Lesbian site that she is a lesbian, that was a
>shocker to me...
Who cares? What she does off camera is not really anyone's business
as long as it is legal. I am tired of stars getting arrested for
crimes that any idiot would know better than, but that is another
thread and probably another newsgroup.
No, it's a very expensive wig which she only wears for the show. If she had
hair extensions she wouldn't have them removed when she's not on the show, and
then put in again when she's on the show.
Carole
She only wears the wig on the show. She's probably very secure with her looks
that she doesn't care what others think. The wig she wears is fabulous,
though. One thing about her real hair - it's low maintenance.
Carole
I heard her say, "I feel like Miss Piggy". I think she was referring to the
flashbacks of her younger days when she was slim. I did notice that she seemed
out of breath, but I attribute that to just being overcome with excitement. Or
perhaps she has a touch of laryngitis. She didn't seem ill at all. I still
believe she looked fabulous. I even watched her when she was on "Days of Our
Lives" as Laura Horton. She was a fantastic actress then.
>Hummm, does this mean B&B watchers have a fixation on hair? There is

Go brush your teeth, you have a few stray hairs between your teeth. Did you
work late last night dear?
Funky
I thought Susan Flannery looked like she always does when she's not on B and B
as Stephanie. She's worn her real hair like that for years, I think. And
whether she's a lesbian or not, who cares? She seems like a lady who is very
comfortable in her own skin and with her appearance. And she is classy as all
get out. I loved her acceptance speech. I really wanted Michelle Stafford to
win because I thought she had the best material and story, but I'm more than
pleased with SF's win. She manages to turn in fabulous, believeable and
heartfelt performances, no matter how odious or tacky the plot might be. IMO,
Stephanie is the center of the B and B universe.

Openly? I don't think so. And, it's a hairstyle you could see on a
woman of her age & with thinning white hair who was either straight or
gay.

Male hormones she acquired over the years??!!! LOL Neither female
nor male hormones are exclusive to one gender. Naturally, males have
more male hormones & fewer female hormones just as females have more
female hormones & fewer male hormones. It's just a part of life. Once
you have hormones being produced, you have both, unless your hormones
are off & you need medical treatment.

I don't know what either of you mean by "open" but it is no secret
that she is gay.
I've said it on alt.tv.bold-beautiful, and I'll add it here: I
love Susan's ultra short, grey hair. She wears it well--all she needs
is a great cut (as do many of the B&B actors). Personally, I'd love
to see Stephanie ditch the wig/current hairstyle. IMO, it makes her
look too matronly and too much older than Eric. But...
My bet is that Susan wears her own hair totally different from
her character's to distinguish/separate/maintain her own identity.
From all accounts, Susan is an independent lady. She's been playing
the same part since 1987, so how many times do you think adoring fans
rush up and approach her with "Stephanie!" and can't/don't distinguish
the role from the person? And because Susan's "work hair" is SO
different from her "real life hair," it probably serves her well as a
disguise from intruding fans. And, the wig probably decreases the
time she has to spend in hair & makeup.
Why, in 2003, are we equating hairstyle with sexual identity???
Bo
SF doesn't go around parading a Gay Rights Banner! Many people do not know
that she is a lesbian (and what difference does it make anyway?) I believe
she's a great actress and director - period. Her hairstyle is discussed as
other actors' stlyes are discussed. Next you'll be telling us that Ronn
wears his hair long because he a tranny. Point being - so what?!
No where in this article does SF say that she is gay. Why do you assume so
many people know (or care) about it?

LeeHirt is a over weight closet lesbo, I read that in tv guide. The poster must
have confused herself with SF.
Knowing that information does anyone care? Does anyone believe the source.
Focus on the real issue, the ability of the actress to play her role.

The article was about SF and since this is a thread about her I

interview with SF and wanted to share it. Geesh!

I don't assume anything. I have read several times that she was a
lesbian and was very open about it.
I did not start this thread and as I have written before I could care
less about who she sleeps with. I was just responding to someone
else's question.

I'm not bitter, alone, or angry. I can't see where your comment was needed. SF
being a lesbian and the fact that she is heavy doesn't affect her ability to be
a actress. I don't have a great love for her and she isn't my fav.

I never said her being a lesbian was a bad thing. I think that is
where you and I part ways. It wasn't like I was calling her a name.
There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with someone who is gay or lesbian.
It is merely a part of who they are like the color of their eyes.
>and the fact that she is heavy doesn't affect her ability to be a actress.
That I disagree with. She is supposed to be married to a fashion
designer and have a son who is a fashion designer and she looks
matronly to put it mildly.
Disagree all you want LeeHirt, because larger women are stylish. SF's clothes
suit the character she plays. She is an older woman and she looks nice no
matter what her size. FYI matronly women are fine looking they have payed their
dues. Now shut up.

Martha,
LeeHirt does this every damn time with the same question - - "What original

the wench is trying to muddy the water now. "It" is a mean spirited creature.

I agree. She looks like some old maid who has let herself go. All
she wears is suits. I don't think I have ever seen her in a dress. I
think that is odd since her husband and son are designers.
>She is an older woman and she looks nice no

But not for the role of a high profile fashion designer's wife/mother.

I'm not talking about matronly women in general. I am talking about a
specific actress in a specific role.
