Yes, she did! She looked like she'd been crying continuously. The right
side of her face was worse. I think she's a pretty woman, but today she
just looked tired and old.... thank goodness we didn't have to see
Antonio, though (sorry, for the people who like him). :-)

I thought the same thing. Jill looked horrible. First I noticed her
face, which did look very puffy and I thought either she pigged out
Thanksgiving day and gained 15 pounds, or she's pregnant. (Could she be
pregnant? How old is the actress?) Then when she came into John's office
she looked HUGE around the middle. But it could have been that awful
dress she was wearing. Nomatter what kind of figure you have, huge black
and white polka-dots will make you look like a HIPPO!!! So, hopefully
she'll be wearing something different the next time they show her and
we'll be able to evaluate what's going on there.

I noticed Jill's face yesterday too, in particular, her eyes. They really
did look quite puffy, and it almost looks like she might have had some
cosmetic surgery on them, possibly an eye lift or some collagen injections
around the area between the brow and the eye. And I agree, she's still a
knockout, but that bozo the clown suit with the spare tire collar didn't
flatter her usually statuesque figure.

I thought the SAME thing...in fact, as I was watching today, for the first
time, I thought Jill beared a striking resemblance to Peggy Bundy!!!!!

Maybe I'm *way* off the mark, but Jess has ditched the hair extensions.
Highlights her face a lot more than before with all that light focusing
right on her face and not her hair. Makes her face actually look a lot more
thin. Also points out some lighting that did indeed make one side of her
face look like she was tired (I recently saw such lighting in a local play,
making the actors' faces look like one of their eyes were shut).

I'll watch with a more careful--um--eye, but I don't think Jess has any
problems. Bet it's the techno stuff. Report back with your reactions!

Happy viewing and...

Cheers!

Yes, I had similar thoughts, like maybe she has had some plastic surgery
to look more "youthful". Her skin had a very "stretched tight" look to
it especially around her eyes. Whoever her surgeon was, she got rooked
by them. Jess Walton never really needed the surgery. Sure she had a
few lines and stuff, but if anything, that only managed to add to her
looks. Being an older woman shouldn't be crime.

On Y&R, some of the older ladies have at times expressed doubts about
continuing to be attractive as they've aged. Of course it seems as if
Hollywood is populated by aggressive twenty year olds that look in ways
ordinary women could never dream of looking like. And it doesn't help
any to see the men drooling over them like Pamela Sue Anderson (is the
name right?) of Baywatch like the guys were starving to death and she
was their last meal. Of course, in time these gals will no longer be
twenty-somethings either and there will be a new crop of babes to take
their places.

I hate seeing Jess Walton take this path (either that or she's using
some real nasty cosmetics/makeup techniques) and/or must be suffering
some health problems. Either way, I hope I'm wrong and next time we see
her, she'll be looking like her old self again.

One thing is for certain -- this actress has a very high forehead and
looks much better WITH bangs than WITHOUT. Bangs also make her look
several years younger. I've noticed this even before today, but the
no-bangs really did accentuate the puffy face today. And as I said, for
the first time, I thought she looked like Kate Segal (Peggy Bundy).

i'm glad someone else noticed jess walton's appearance - i noticed her face
looking different in yesterday's and today's episodes. she looks as though
her face is puffy, and white make-up has been used underneath her eyes. i
never thought of plastic surgery. my first thought was pregnancy or some
other weight gain, but there are medications (such as steroids) that will
cause weight gain and puffiness around the face. hope she's not ill - i
have to say that she's one of my favorite characters, and a teriffic
actress.

I definitely thought she looked different both on Tuesday and Wednesday's
show, but I don't think it had to do with hair extensions. Her eyes
looked different . . . I thought maybe she had an eye job or a forehead
lift or something. If she had the eye job, they would be puffy as part
of recovery, wouldn't they? Maybe she'll look better later.

Well she looked the same today-It does look like the crows feet are gone
from her eyes. It is too bad-she really looked great before-I guess it's
the competition in show business. Many of these actresses get cosmetic
surgery and they wind up looking unnatural and not quite right.Oh well,I
guess it's the price they have to pay for being in the business.Hopefully
someday people will be excepted for what they are and not have to worry so
much about getting older.
Just my opinion.Patricia

Don't forget -- the actor who plays John Abbott took time off a few
years ago to have an eye job, and Katherine had a face lift **on
camera** and later chided Jill that she was reaching the age where she
should do the same!

I remember reading in an earlier post that she had an eye infection/allergic
reaction or something. When I saw her, thought she looked tired, but not
horrible. Then again, I've only caught one episode in the past several weeks.

Jess Walton is a beautiful woman - doesn't look to me like she needs an eye
job any time soon! I hope the infection/allergic reaction she had clears up
really soon. She's one of the best characters on the show.

Because Jess Walton is almost 70? I think the aging process might be
finally starting to show on her. These actors can only have so many
dermabrasions, collagen and nips and tucks.
I keep thinking that one of these days Jack's (Peter Bergman) face is
going to snap like a rubber band and go flying across the room.

Yep... bet she wishes, she'd look like on a bad day in her 40s. I sure do.
But she did look odd, like her face was falling. Maybe she, has finally decided to have her face pumped up with Botox and decided to age gracefully.
More power to her.
Honestly, I dislike the actresses with Botox treatments, they make me feel old looking. ;)

Same for me with the male actors. I'm about the same age as Peter
Bergman (Jack) and I look like I could be his father, lol. He had his
hairline and eyes done as well as dermabrasion and a facelift,
probably botox too. But he looks pretty good, not artificial. Same
with Doug Davidson and Christian Leblanc.

It looks like Jill had that surgery that takes fat out of your butt and injects it into your cheeks to make you look "younger". She looks absolutely ridiculous. Sharon had it done a while back too. Why people do this to themselves is beyond me. It eventually flattens out some, but in the meantime, they look like clowns.

Wait-was it even the same actress, playing Jill in 1996? Not joking around, really don't remember when Jess Walton took over the part. Interesting! As I remember, most of the people I knew preferred her to the first Jill, sorry, forgot her name. Didn't notice anything too awful!

Oh, there was plenty of trauma and complaining when Jess Walton took
over Jill from Brenda Dickson, who originated the role. I remember it
well. In fact, I remember Jess from the part that she played on the
rather short-lived soap, "Capitol," and how difficult it was initially
to get used to her switching soaps as a different character.

Brenda Dickson's portrayal of Jill and her infamous interplay with
Jeanne Cooper's Katherine Chancellor was so iconic that most thought
she was irreplaceable at the time. And that was sort of reinforced by
the weak job that Deborah Adair did for a few years as Jill the first
time that Brenda left Y&R back in the early 80's (BD came back and
reprised the role for a few more years). But Jess Walton took over
the role so absolutely that she "made it her own" as it were and she
turned out to be one of best recasts in the history of soaps AFAIC.
When I look back at old Y&R clips now, Brenda Dickson's acting seems
so wooden by comparison. Jess made Jill my all-time favorite Y&R
character.

Yes...I wasn't a regular fan of Capitol, but my mother was. And, after Capitol went off the year, Mom was glad to still see her. She sure DID make the role her own)especially with Katherine! The perfect love/hate relationship!
