I'm a little behind (still watching today's tape), but I was going to ask if
anyone has noticed Ashley's (actually, Eileen Davidson's) new girls. A
definite difference from before. Makes me wonder if there is some sort of
(breast) plastic surgery requirement on the part of TPTB. It's a bit too
creepy for me.
OTOH, I'm enjoying Judith Chapman as NuGloria and don't miss JVA at all.
One thing I'm glad to see is that JC has a bit of "turkey neck" and my first
thought was, "Ah, yes--a woman of a certain age who isn't afraid to look
that way," in stark contrast to JVA. It's quite a refreshing change. In
addition, JC's acting skills are more than competent, and she brings a whole
new twist to the role, one that is far more sympathetic to me than JVA's
take on it. For example, in the ongoing bitch-slap-fest between Ashley and
Gloria, well, I didn't want to side with Ashley (since I'm a new convert to
the "die, Ashley, die!" club), but I had such antipathy toward JVA's Gloria
that I couldn't side with her, either. But with JC in the role, the choice
becomes much easier for me.

I so agree. judith Chapman is doing a supreme job and has retained a
few Van Arkisms, just enough to have made us embrace her warmly as a
great recast choice. Gloria and Kevin are really oustanding on Y&R. Of
course the writers give Kevin some good scenes but he runs the entire
field with them every time. His command of facial expressions is so
good. He can vary from quite handsone to almost a junior version of
Frankenstein.

I hadn't noticed Asshley's.

Yeah, she's growing on me. At least she doesn't have that frozen look on her
face. I'd love to see her stick it to Asshley anyway she can.
