From Michael Fairman Soaps:

"While ABC Daytime is all but destroyed from its former self, with the
influx of The Chew, and The Revolution, and the status of General
Hospital now consistently on the chopping block, the primetime
division of ABC apparently sees a resurgence in bringing back soapy
drama to the nighttime! Quite the paradox!"

Not that I'd watch either one, but KDP would be a natural fit for
Nashville. I still have an episode of Time Trax where she played a
country music singer just starting out, who would later be a mega-
star. It was fun, and her songs were sweet. It had John deLancie in
it, too, always a bonus.

In keeping with my boycott of anything new on ABC, I will not watch
anything they put on the air.

It's bad enough that I still watch Desperate Housewives and Grey's
Anatomy. Although DH is soon history.

Even if someone isn't boycotting just because he/she is angry, why
would any sane person risk getting invested on ANYTHING on ABC given
how cancellation-happy ABC has become? I just don't have it in me any
more to do that. I'm angry enough not to watch ABC just because, but
really, even if I weren't, there's a practical, self-protective reason
not to invest in anything ABC offers anymore.

Exactly!!
Maybe it's my age and all.. but remember when ABC was on TOP? When we
watched them kick-ass on Battle of the Network Stars? When they gave a
show more than 3 episodes before they gave it the ax or it would not
be there TO BEGIN WITH??
Exactly.... i miss the old ABC... pre-Disney.

These new shows sound dreary. Sex crazed women, improbably buffed up
men, greed, bedroom antics, dirty dealings and blind ambition, bad
acting, models who havn't learned their craft, shallow writing, and
boring repetitive plot-lines. What these shows won;t have are
interesting, multi-dimensional characters who have Lives. These shows
will tank.

I agree with you whole-heartedly, Michael. I've been burned too many
times in the past getting involved in a show and then having them
cancel it out from under me.

I hate being left hanging without closure.

Ironically, I am a huge Disneyphile in every other way. But I hate what's
happened to ABC since they were bought by Disney. Not just AMC, to which I
was devoted for all those years. But watching so many other good shows be
cancelled, or just tank; or new shows that are crap to start with--just so
far below what used to be the ABC quality standards; and the relentless
shameless Disney self-promotion (like they need it, for God's sake). But I
confess that I still watch ABC shows, I really can't boycott the entire
network, there ARE other shows I occasionally like. And I hold out some hope
that someone, somewhere in that mess of a management will hear the hue (sp?)
and cry and save it from complete demise. [Do entire networks ever shut
down? Seems doubtful but at this rate ABC could be the first.]

I feel the same as you Cindi. ABC has gone downhill since Disney took
over. I don't know if it's their overall guidance or just the choice of
executives they have made, but this network certainly has not been
managed as well as their theme parks.

Unlike you, I don't watch anything in ABC primetime, except an
occasional Castle episode, and nothing in daytime, except GH until it is
gone. Unlikely I will be watching ABC in the future for a very long time.

Thanks for the list! It reminded me that they did add one show in
recent years... for 1 season... that I liked, Detroit 1-8-7, and I tried
to watch Grey's Anatomy last year, but it's not the same.
