On Entertainment Tonight, their "cover story" was about a forgotten
one-time soap idol, George Reinholt, who's now down on his luck and
advertising his services as an "escort" for anyone who'll pay.
They had shots of him from his heyday in the 70s on ANOTHER WORLD, and
mentioned how he'd been fired. And then later fired from "another soap"
(not even mentioned OLTL or his time there).
He is now practically unrecognizable, heavy and jowly and not at all aging
well. They didn't get into too many specifics about his descent. Just
that he'd been "difficult" and fired from two shows and then he nursed his
ailing parents (now dead). And now he's rebuilding his life. He lives in
Florida and ran his ad in local papers but so far has had no takers.
He's offering himself as a celebrity to accompany women to various social
functions (not as THAT kind of escort!)
It was very sad and pathetic to see the state he's come to. Especially
compared to some of his former co-stars like Robin Strasser and Victoria
Wyndham (Rachels 1 & 2 on AW).
