This is going to be a brief update. My 18 year old cat, Mandy,

died this morning, she seemed to not be able to get over the

death of my 19 year old cat Dora last month. So I'm feeling

sad and not in the mood to take a lot of time on this! It's difficult

to come in the door and not have them run up to me!

DV tells someone on the phone that Dr. Lambert didn't show up - but
he will find Eve and the letters. He says he doesn't want the letters falling
into the wrong hands any more that the person he's talking to does.

Eve continues to try and get out of the cellar - meanwhile Kevin and Eve
hear a noise and check outside. They decide it's a tree branch hitting the
house. Eve manages to break a lock off a door but it just leads into another
room. She prays and asks God for 3 things (she figures she'd ask for it all
while she's talking) - 1) get out of the cellar, 2) see her son grow up, and
3) that she and Kevin will be together still when everything is all over. She
pleads for help. The room she's in has a door up high - she starts to try to
get to it.

Scott searches a cereal box for the prize. He decides Serena already got to
it. When she comes down - he tells her he knows her secret and what she
did. She thinks he means the secret with Eve and spills all. He tells her to
get her coat - they need to go to the lighthouse. At the lighthouse, Serena
fills in Kevin and Lucy on the letters. They wonder why Eve didn't tell them,
Serena says she made Eve promise not to tell. She shows them the secret
Panel in the closet where she hid the letters - but they are gone!

Frank comes home and Courtney is miffed with him. She's upset that he
was out all night instead of being with Neil on the anniversary of John K's
death. Frank tells her he stayed away because he knew he'd fight with Joe
about how to handle it. She's pleased at his thoughtfulness. They start
kissing - and Lark walks in on them! Later, Lark asks Frank about Courtney.
Frank asks her what she thinks about Courtney and Frank as a couple. Lark
praises Courtney's mothering skills, but grades her low on her girlfriending
skills. Lark is worried that Frank will be hurt. She sees the way Courtney
looks at Joe. Frank tells her that's in the past - things have changed. He
tells her not to worry - he can handle Courtney. Lark leaves and Courtney
comes in to ask what Lark said. Courtney worries that Lark will say some-
thing to Neil. Frank asks if it's Neil or Joe she's worried about. Courtney
says she's just concerned about Neil. Frank wants to know what there is
between them. Courtney just wants to enjoy the ride and not think about
where it's going. She just wants to feel good in the present. Frank says
sooner or later people will see them together and figure out that Frank is
the father of her children (I don't know why people would jump to that
conclusion.) He asks why she keeps seeing him - she tells him she can't
stop and doesn't think he can either.

Lucy, Scott, and Kevin discuss why Eve didn't say anything to them about
the letters. Kevin calls GH and discovers she hasn't been seen and is worried
that she has been kidnapped. They hear the sound again and decide it's
coming from inside the house - they rush to the secret door and look in and
see Eve! She is grateful to Kevin and Scott for rescuing her. Scott tells her
that Serena led them to her and wonders if she found the letters. Eve, not
too convincingly, acts jubilant and says she did and holds them up. Kevin
takes them and hugs Eve - over his shoulder, she looks worried.

Many say animals don't have the capacity to love, I disagree. They give us
their unconditional love, and it truly hurts our heart when they leave this
earth. God made all creatures. He loves them, too. My prayer is for you,
to have peace, and remember the love and comfort your kitties gave you in
this lifetime.

While I can't say that I truly understand your pain, I know it must be
horrendous.

In August, we had to put our beloved Casey down because of cancer and seizures.
Still I dodge imaginary wet spots on the carpet!

As if that isn't bad enough, we had an irresponsible houseguest who left the
gate open last weekend. Seeing his one chance for freedom, our Great Pyrenees,
Ivan, left. We have searched for days, advertised in the newspapers, asked
half the world and posted signs - to no avail.

Sometimes it just plain hurts.
