OLTL: Max Departure

I've always been curious....why did Max leave OLTL. Was he fired?
Anyone know? I never read anything about why he left and I've always
been curious. Must have been bad since he was not invited back for the
ending.

I was under the impression that they felt his storylines had run their course and after they killed both Gabrielle
and Al, and Blair was firmly in the Todd/Victor orbit, that was the end. I don't get the impression there were
hard feelings or acrimony, since he was asked back for Asa's funeral in 2008. I mean, it would have been nice if
they filmed a nice little cameo of Max with his twins with Luna looking in on them. I mean, they did a nice tiny
moment for Erin Torpey (former Jessica) when Cristian went to Spain.

Then again, did we even see Renee (Patricia Elliot) ever again after that very boring scene in the cemetery with
Bo? They also dropped whatever storyline they had for Renee when Stacey was going to the clinic where Mitch, or
someone, was in a coma.

I always wanted them to do a Renee OLTL spinoff with Renee moving back
to Paris Texas. They established long ago that she still owned
"property" down there. I always had the impression that her old
whorehouse had been turned into a B&B. Picture it. Renee is coming
home after a visit to the Wilson ranch (Chuck said she was always
welcome). He car breaks down on the way to the airport. It's night.
She's just a mile away from her old whorehouse, now run for her by one
of her girls as a respectible B&B. Renee makes a surprise visit. She
gets hustled into a bedroom. Renee is in her night clothes, in bed,
can't sleep. Too much noise, a lot of laughter, and creeky bed
springs. She realizes the place was turned back into a whorehouse
behind her back. No wonder the place had been making so much money.
Renee goes downstairs, she is NOT happy. She see's some guy handing
money to a girl. "You sir," she says, "give me that!" and grabs the
cash just in time for the police to bust the place. There she is, a
victim of circumstances, in her night clothes, holding a wad a cash,
while some guy has his pants down. Well, the judge believes her story,
but hizoner isn't hapy that Renee hadn't been keeping a closer watc on
her business. Judge orders her to move back tot town, turn the place
BACK into a B&B and also help rehablitate her girls. Nice idea,
huh???? There was so much they could have done with OLTL. There was
suck richness. All gone. So sad.
