I seem to be the only one out here that liked Luna I will be sorry to
tune in every day and not see her- I didn't tune into Llandview to see
normal people I tuned in for the off-beat like Luna, Megan, Sarah,
Michael, Llanna Flagg and Nikki... Seems as though if you are not
mainstream you end up 6 feet under...

I hope the writers can get the show out from under soon or they may all
be pushing daisies....

I loved Luna's character and I hate that she was killed off. She was
one of the most original and endearing characters on TV. Sure, she got
a little "out there" sometimes, but she wasn't crazy, she wasn't mean,
she was genuinely who she was. Maybe the fact that I grew up in the
"flower child" era of the '60s has affected my viewpoint. I knew some
terrific people that Luna reminded me of. I'm going to miss Susan
Batten and the off-beat character she portrayed so well. Now there is
no character who is genuinely a nice person in Llanview. (Andrew and
Cassie don't count for various reasons)

I think they do need some lively fresh blood. Kelly is a plus, but we
need some more off-beat, good actors to balance out the lame ducks like
Cassie, Dylan and Tina---no presence and no personality. I too will miss
Luna, but I would rather Susan Batten leave the show then to see her
have to suffer through another stupid plot with James Depraived. They
need more Loopy Liposuctions (or whatever Jake's best friend's name
was---Lucky???), Spring Skyes, Wanda Woleks, people with quarks, people
with an incredible spark of life inside them that just radiates every
scene they are in. I think most of the cast has that spark, but they are
paired with people who don't and that just serves to drain the energy
level. Clint needs a buddy. Nora needs a neurotic client. Joey needs a
girl next door who constantly throws herself at him. How about a
smart-mouthed hooker who keeps making fun of Bo every time she gets
arested? They don't have to be long-term. They can be recurring, but I
think characters like these would really give actors some meat to chew
into and would also give the audience some good entertainment.

Those are some really entertaining ideas! I really liked Jake's friend
Lucky and his wacky girlfriend. I remember one of my favorite scenes.
Jake had done so MANY things to tick Megan off lately and she had every
right to be mad as hell with him, but Lucky talks Jake into fixing himself
up to try and get her back. So there's Jake standing there with Lucky at
his side and Megan across the room madder than all-get-out counting off
the long list of infuriating things Jake has done to mess up her life.
And in the short lull, after she's done, Lucky - who's been smiling the
whole time - says excitedly, "Yeah, but don't his shirt look nice?" (The
best part was that YEAH, Jake sure did look nice in that shirt.)

OLTL needs to get back some crazy characters. They have too many stiffs
on right on. I would like to see some of your ideas come to life. We're
in dire need of some levity.

What Diane and Ray are saying is that they liked the way the
show was before Michael Malone and Linda Gottlieb. All those
characters were from the last regime. Now, folks, we are
embroiled in realism, which, as far as I'm concerned, means boring.
I miss the way OLTL and its characters used to entertain me, too.

As I read over Ray's wish list, I realized it sounds like the way
other soaps are written, and the way OLTL used to be.
On other soaps, new characters mean excitement, some
new stories, new relationships with old characters, and fun. New
characters on OLTL are just a drag. More not to watch. I couldn't
believe they are hiring Carly Manning of Days, one of the least
liked characters among the DAYS aficionados on GEnie. It checks.
I won't be watching.
