GH:Tony Geary-10 week leave this summer

More bad news for GH. They are losing Maurice Bernard, lost Matthew
Ashford, fired Ms Horan (I am NOT complaining about that) moved Lucy and
Kevin over to Port Charles, Genie Francis is on pregnancy leave--never to
return?--and now Tony Geary is taking a ten week leave. What are we left
with? Not much. Expect a very l o n g boring summer of the Katywhine and
Stefan show. More hokey swimming pools scenes, more exciting and daring
harlequin romance novel dialogues and plots. Thank goodness Culliton
won't be putting his finger in this messy cookie jar--but the new writers
certainly have a barren ghost-town on their hands. GH's summer is NOT
looking up and how many viewers will be tuning out?

Bad news indeed. But I was almost expecting this after TG's comment in TVG
this week. He says that he doesn't like playing Luke without Laura, and told
tptb he didn't want a major storyline while GF was on leave, but rather
wanted to keep a low profile. Sad that it's going to be this low!

Luke being gone 10 wks I can handle...I need a break from his attitude. He
is an overbearing hot head. Sonny leaving is not for sure and Genie
Francis is also not for sure. Along with Brenda, they are still
nogitiating. But you right, GH will be boring this summer. Maybe GH is
slowing the story down in order to allow the fans view the new Port Charles
soap.
Anyhow, the writers can take a break they've been nominated for best soap
again, hope they win.

June, Kris no longer needs a 3 month leave. However, since the PTB have a
hard time writing for her when they KNOW she will be there, if they'd
planned on writing her out because she'd been away, I doubt that they can
write her in again on "short" notice. But right now, she's available more
weeks in the summer and could use time off in the fall now instead.

Well maybe with so many key folks on leave this would be a good time
to develop a main story for Alexis. I sure would love to see Nancy Lee
Grahn do more on the show and wouldn't it be a nice twist for her to
become Stefan's major protagonist. As a sign of her independent per-
haps she could burn that damn brown suit!

Cassadine attic and gobble up the Port Charles Hotel.

Maybe this is when the decide to expose Carly as Bobbie's daughter and
Tony's step daughter. Also, Bobbie can leave Stephan and Stephan can go to

Ah yes, the brown suit.... The brown symbolizes Alexis' position in the
power struggle: She's not black like the Cassadines, and not white like
the Not-Cassadines. OR the wardrobe department happened to have a bunch
of brown suits crowding the dressing room. What do I know?
If only Alexis could be in the opening credits..... If they'd get rid of
the photo of "Telegraph, Telephone, TeleAMY," there would me room for
Alexis.

A tale for Alexis would be wonderful - especially if it takes her away from
Windemere - boy those plot lines leave me cold.
I don't know about Alexis' brown suit, but I've been wanting to burn
Monica's tweed jacket for years now. You'd think with all the Q's dough and
her fabulous salary that she'd have a little more variety in her wardrobe.
Also, pale colours look icky on people that fair - give her some oomph,
somebody, so we remember she's there.
I also think the make-up people are pretty bad - could we bring Laura,
Boobie, and Lucy into the 90's? Their kewpie doll faces and pinky\purply
tones are so eighties.
I know this sounds so negative, its just that its been building for some
time.

Somehow... if Sonny leaves... I get the feeling that we might be
actually seeing more of the old Jason... though the new and improved
Jason is way better and definitely is new and improved. It's almost
like they cast Steve Burton as a whole new character.
