did those writers really have janut say: "i know i'm not a perfect person
but i'm not as black as some people think?"

i'm not even black but i found that line very offensive. geez, writers
don't you read the stuff you write?

I'm sorry it offends you, but it was hardly intended to.

Your taking offense to it would be like my taking offense to the carol "Deck
the Halls" because it contains the line "Don we now our gay apparel."

I'd hardly start arguing that gays didn't have Special "Gay" Apparel that
others could don and somehow seem gay, that we were basically normal, and that
the song stereotyped us and was thus offensive.

Right you are Ashley. And I suppose these offended people
think a "black comedy" is a dig or about black people! The term
has everything to do with mood the color black conveys! Please
ask about these things before you jump to conclusions and take
offense. Now, how about a good Polish joke....no thanks, not
today!
