Felicia did a great job of reassuring him of his parenting skills.
As a mother, Felicia, will not take his parenting issues lightly.

I agree that Tom and Felicia don't have much chemistry. I think that if Damian is sticking
around, that he and Felicia would make an interesting couple. Maybe she could redeem him the way
Mac redeemed Katherine.

Sorry, I have to agree with Jill for now. I have never thought that
Felicia and Tom have any chemistry to be more than just good friends.
However, I did read somewhere that the actor is trying to convince the
writers to put more humor into his role and make him a little more
like the "Jack" character he portrayed on DOOL. If that happens, then
that might spark something more for him and Felicia. But for now, I
still just don't see it.

First let's give Felicia the "adventure and danger," then we can go from
there and see what kind of men fall into her path because of it. I mean I
think part of the problem is just having to watch Felicia sit around and
fall in love with someone. That's just a little bit more interesting than
watching her sit around and watch her toenails dry. Kristina Malandro
emphasized in SOW that she doesn't think the audience just likes romance
or sexual situations for their own sake and chemistry between the actors
is not enough in and of itself. The characters have to be DOING something.
She said, "I think an audience wants to see a couple with romance that has
lots of adventure, with something exciting going on. Not just sexual." The
action is missing from Tom and Felicia. Which is strange because I think the
writers have addressed the need for it. Tom expressed a certain restlessness
about coming back to PC and adjusting after life in Somalia. Felicia has said
time and time again that she wants something more than just the Outback and
Momhood. They've discussed their love of mysteries. In Felicia's
Casablanca-like fantasy, she questioned Tom being involved on her spy
adventure because she thought that psychiatrists didn't go in for espionage.
Fantasy Tom assured her that he was just as adventurous as the next guy.
So, the audience wants adventure and Tom and Felicia want adventure, yet
the writers haven't created any on the screen at all. Dating and juggling
motherhood and a career is very realistic and down to earth and it's
probably a more meaningful story than Felicia has had since she's been on the
show, but it's not that fun to watch for viewers who liked the plots she
USED to be in. So, I say instead of watching Felicia and Tom fall in love
while they date, we watch them do something else exciting and if they happen
to fall in love in the process, so be it. Felicia didn't start off dating
Frisco, they fell in love while they were searching for her Aztec treasure.
Felicia didn't start off dating Colton, they fell in love while they were
searching for Frisco and trying to unravel the mystery of his "death." We
had couples on the run, eluding assassins, and uncovering deceit and we
fell in love with their storylines before they fell in love with each other.
I'd like to get back to that. Maybe the adventure era in soaps has passed
or maybe all characters don't need action and adventure, but I'm used to
associating it with Felicia as one of the last existing member of the
Robert-Sean-Anna WSB team and if they're going to keep Tom and Felicia
together,I'd rather see them solving a mystery (hey Mac did threaten Damian
today, so
I'm assuming they're setting up murder suspects all over again and Tom and
Felicia can be involved than that) than planning their next date. Of course,
there's no reason why working together to solve a murder couldn't end up
being the most romantic courtship of all. But I think you should start from
the action and adventure in this case and then go from there. I'd rather
he uncover a repressed danger from Somalia in his psyche and have her go
with him back to Africa to conquer the threat than just to see them sitting
around talking about ice skating and having staged scenes where they talk
about how scared of commitment, parenthood and bad hair cuts they are.

Well there's an interesting idea. But did you see the Kiss? I thought
Tom and Felicia showed quite a bit of chemistry there!

Felicia hasn't always wanted the guy who was out of reach. In fact both of
her exes were well within her reach when she came upon them and they were
living what she considered staid lives. Frisco was hosting a talk show
and Felicia was disappointed in his lack of ambition and his reluctance
to get involved with the danger that searching for her treasure would cause.
Colton became the host of the same talk show. After his cloudy adventures
as Sanctuary he wanted to settle down and just wanted to protect Felicia, she
was the one who wanted to run off. She was the adventure catalyst, not the
men in her life. At this point in her life, she realizes that her children
need her and she is not about to run off and abandon them, but this is a
soap opera where children play quietly in their rooms for hours on end and
where Betty the babysitter is always available. Felicia's resentment of Mac
and Katherine show very clearly that she is not past wanting adventure and
danger in her life and what the show needs to do, and has indicated through
the characters' own expressed restlessness that it WILL do, is try to juggle
parenthood with that need for adventure and action. Michele

I agree wholeheartedly, Susan. It's a refreshing juxtoposition to the
immature relationships of Brenda/Sonny/Lily/Miguel/Jax and I find Felicia
and Tom interesting to watch. I'm hoping this will continue to grow into
something very special. They seem to have all the right ingredients,
namely fun, sexual tension, caring feelings, common needs & issues, and
they look good together.

Looking forward to more...
