Was Dunder Mifflin going to use the footage for some reason?
Another question: was the only reason Dwight and Angela's initial affair
kept secret because she thought it was best?

I don't recall them ever giving a reason for the filming.

I think so -- not surprising, given her prudishness. I don't
remember Dwight's original position on the subject, but after
Angela and Andy got engaged Dwight definitely wanted to come clean
to everyone about the affair, to which Angela strenuously objected.

I wondered because even when the characters went to bars, the corporate
office, other places and even private homes the cameras were acknowledged.
