We are seeking a Marketing Associate to assist the Marketing Director in
building awareness of the programs, facility, and mission of The Noble Fool
Theater Company. In this newly-created position, the Marketing Associate
will work in all areas of marketing, with particular focus on the convention
and tourism sectors, special events, daytime facility rentals,
cross-promotion with Loop businesses, and distribution of promotional
materials.
Reporting directly to the Marketing Director, s/he will:
· Work directly with the Convention and Tourism Bureau and other groups to
identify and develop opportunities to market Noble Fool programs to meeting
planners, convention organizers, tour operators, and similar parties.
· Solicit, promote and organize business rentals of the theater facility for
meetings and conferences.
· Coordinate show openings, open houses, and similar events throughout the
theater year.
· Create marketing materials for theater rentals, daytime programming, and
mailings
· Assist with the development of an overall Marketing Plan.
· Assist with the development of cross-marketing relationships with
Loop-area businesses, such as restaurants, hotels, etc.
· Manage the circulation of brochures, rack cards and materials throughout
central Chicago.
· Other marketing-related tasks as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years' experience in a
professional marketing environment. Experience in performing-arts marketing
is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required as is
proven creativity.
It is necessary to have the ability to handle a multitude of tasks and
deadlines as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively
in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment. Proficiency with
Windows-based computers (including Microsoft Office products) is necessary.
Some experience with webpage layout and design software is a plus.
This is fulltime position and is primarily performed during the standard
business week. Attendance at some evening or weekend meetings is required.
No travel is required. Starting salary is about 30k based on experience,
and a basic benefits package (including health insurance) is provided.
