Hi. We're renting an ETC Express 24/48 and I'd like to program
some chases. It's only running dimmer packs for Par cans. I've
been reading the manual and trying to get it to work that way,
but I can't figure it out apparently. Can anyone explain more
clearly than it's explained in the manual? Does it have to be in
blind mode like in the example?

Thanks for any help!

I've never tried doing a chase on an Express, but you could try to do it as
a loop of cues.
Just make a string of cues that "Follow" each other, and "Link" back to the
first cue.
You could run the loop in the CD fader while running other cues in the AB
fader.
Just a lame thought.

(newsgroups trimmed... this is really most on topic for rats...)

It depends on what you actually mean by "chase", but in general on an
Express language board you want to do it as a subroutine... and yes, it
may be best to run it in the alternate fader from the rest of your cues.

I've always done my chases as an effect submaster/cue, and yes they are
created in blind mode.

Select CUE or SUB, press the # you want to program(ENTER), then press TYPE
and choose 3(effect), the rest is a bit complicated to describe here, and I
am only going off memory here, you will need to create each STEP add
channels to those steps and set the fade and dwell times etc.
