A NOTTINGHAM drama student is the youngest person ever to win a place
on Middlesex University's prestigious MA course in theatre directing.

Andy Raffle (22) of Clifton in Nottingham has won one of only a
handful of places awarded to UK students and will be the youngest
person ever to embark on the course.

Says Andy: "It's a unique programme, aimed at training the
professional theatre and film directors of the next Millennium, and is
taught by some of the world's leading directors."

A former pupil at Fairham Community College in Clifton, Andy graduated
from the University of Wales at Aberystwyth last year with a 2:1
degree in drama. Since then he has been working as an editorial
assistant for The Boots Company's employee magazine, Blueprint. In his
spare time he has undertaken a series of projects which have helped
him to win his place at Middlesex.

Working with Central TV's Junior Workshop, he directed one of their
productions and helped organise a festival of six plays. He also led a
series of drama workshops in local schools and has been back to
Aberystwyth to direct a play there.

"It's been a busy and worthwhile year, which almost certainly helped
me gain my place at Middlesex," says Andy. "At £7,620, the university
tuition fees are a bit daunting, but this is the chance of a lifetime
and I'm determined not to miss out."

Now Andy is looking for sponsorship to finance this opportunity.

Anyone interested in helping Andy reach his target of £7,620 can call
him on (days) +44 (0)115 968 6984 or
(evenings) +44 (0)115 974 4282.

Oh, please... If it was only this easy. Go home, stop spamming. If
it's legitimate he should ask his family and friends, take out a loan,
apply for scholarships and grants, talk with his church or social
clubs, etc. Life on the dole is no life to live.

I don't understand. Am I being very naive, but why does he have to pay?

I get all my fees paid by the govt. and I'm doing a masters...

Oh, c'mon, Adam, you understand.... one earns a scholarship or
fellowship for graduate school..... or you get a student loan or earn
the money, or you beg from family.... or friends. And if all else
fails, you write an e-mail scam like Andy's.

Break a elg,

I would like to know the relevance of this to Philadelphia theatre...

phl.theatre does mean Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA ...

I also noticed posts to australian, groups too!

I believe charity begins at home, not thousands of miles away.

Honestly these crossposting spammers don't care what the group is about,
only that it has a word (theatre) in it.

Since spammers scan addresses from newsgroup headers I put in a dummy
"reply to". You should substitute "COSTUMES" for
"check-sig-file-for-real-address" and "MINDSPRING" for the ISP.
