The tickets for the revival of Sondheim's Company at the Roundabout
(Broadway and 45th) went on sale today at 10. I got to the box office at
9:50 and had over a 1.5 hour wait. The show was originally scheduled to run
from Sept. 30 to Oct. 29, but has now been extended to Dec. 4. There were
very few tickets left for Sept and Oct, and they were all in the rear. I got
5th row center for Nov 10. Anyone who wants to see this should move
quickly. I think the remaining tickets are going to go fast.

This report is true but... Having heard about the lines, I stopped by the
Roundabout today (8/1) at 3:00 PM. There were no lines when I arrived. I
walked right in and got decent tickets for a Saturday matinee in
September.

Friends of mine at the Roundabout confirmed (a while ago) that no one
really thought the show would play only 4 regular performance weeks. The
extension to Dec. 4th had (more or less) been expected.

Your difficulty in getting seats for Sept./Oct. is indeed an indication of
how popular the show is, but is also a reflection of the fact that most of
the initial announced run was sold to a subscription audience. Better
Nov. seats are available because they weren't offered on subscription.
Also, I walk past the Roundabout on my way to work every day and since
that initial day, the lines (if any) haven't been too bad.

So take heart, soon-to-be ticket buyers, there's hope.

I just receently called the Roundabout and ordered 4 tickets for Saturday
October 21. They had no problem filling the order. As the previous
message stated, the most available seats are found in the latter half of
the run.
