(Don't want this group to go moribund.)
Listening to the Joe Jackson Band's album "Volume 4". (He's a
guy from England, no relation to any musical family that may be
all over the news right now.) His song "Awkward Age" has the
lyrics "I should have known that you were only just fifteen/ You
had a scowl like a Klingon beauty queen."

Not just to not a Trek mention in the mainstream. I think the
phrase "a scowl like a Klingon beauty queen" is a very useful one
for certain moods.

Oh, yes, that is a useful phrase. I don't know that I can
apply it anywhere right now, but there's sure to come a time for it.

As it happens I finally got around to seeing the _Futurama_
episode ``Where No Fan Has Gone Before'', so that's also fresh in my
mind.

For other Trek in Pop Culture stuff, assuming that comic strips
still count as Pop Culture, Brian Anderson's puppy-and-baby strip _Dog
Eat Doug_ is enjoying a week of Trek fantasizing:

I really like this strip, which has a lot of whimsy and neat
animal jokes even aside from Sophie's starring role.
