As is my custom when contributing to trek groups I write a spoiler for new
episodes. I usually release it within a day or two of the airing of the episode
(depending upon what's happening in my life and how busy I am).
Those of you familiar with my DS9 spoilers will know what to expect for
Voyager. I thought I'd give the rest of you a head's up on what to expect.
I have two types of Spoilers: one for the story and one for the nits.
First: Both types of spoilers start with "Spoiler:" so you know not to read it
if you want to avoid any advance knowledge of what happens. The story
spoiler will add the word "(Story)" in the subject lne while the nit spolier
adds the word "(Nits)".
Second: The first line will warn any reader that strays across my post about
the contents being a spoiler and to avoid reading it if they want to avoid
advance knowledge. This first line is followed by about forty blank lines to
ensure you don;t unintentionally see the contents.
Third (Story spoiler): After the warning I'll provide a detailed synopsis on
the episode's events and people. Immediately following this I'll include a
shorter section on whatever I found praise-worthy for the episode.
Third (Nits spoiler): After the warning I'll describe the nits I found
(assuming there were any). Anyone familiar with Phil Farrand's Nitpicker's
Guide series will understand a nit is something that is inconsistent with the
Trek universe and/or problems with the production (like seeing a reflected face
in a crystal that sat on Sela's desk in "Redemption Part II", or a sound boom
that got a little too much into the scene, etc).
If you happen to be one of those who doesn;t want to read about an episode's
nits I suggest you add the word "Nits" to your killfile's Subject list. If you
don;t have a killfile just avoid those posts.
I hope you folk will find my Spoilers both entertaining and helpful.

Question: what does this have to do with Toronto's showtime?
Douglas

Upgrade it to a 20MHz 80286 and stop posting until you have something to
say.

Perhaps my correction to the accreditations will help. Seems my name and a
carat got dropped somewhere along the way.
Oh I don't mind the question, Mike. It isn't often people with my educational
background find themselves faced with such assumptions ;-)
carat got dropped somewhere along the way.
I type in real time online & I have no way of attributing or even
putting quotes in things. Cleveland Freenet does not have an
offline reader for this conferences, but with Windows, I can at
least copy a portion of a screen & paste it into a message like
I did at the beginning of this message. It is typical that a
usenet conference would turn a joke into a major discussion.
