I don't know if any one has heard this but I thought it was an
interesting tidbit. In Olympia, Wash., Evergreen State college has
a class (starting 10-3), called "Where No One Has Gone Before". Today,
52 students will watch episodes of the old series and explore the
relationships between popular culture and science. Required reading
includes "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking, "Brave New World",
by Aldous Huxley and Arthur C. Clarde's 2001: A Space Odyssey. Just
thought somebody would like to know.

You wouldn't happen to have the syllabus or know the name of the person
who is teaching it would you? I've been thinking about teaching such a
class as part of our so-called January term for some time.
