Alright . . . . a couple days ago I posted an idea on a plot idea for the
next trek series Starring T. Riker and his main Squeeze, Deanna Troi.

Well, as was apt to happen, egged on by lots of supportive email, I've
thought even more (scarey, isn't it).

--------------------

STAR TREK: The Continuing Adventures

Ship: Nebula Class. Not sure on name.

Characters:
Captain: Captain T'Sal
Female Vulcan raised on Earth by human parents.
(this is called, "let's mess up the mind of the
character because she has to deal with the fact she
was raised human, thinks human but is expected to be
Vulcan".)

1st Officer: Commander Tom Riker
Double of Commander Will Riker

2nd Officer/: Lt. Commander <somethingorother -- I stink at names>
Science Off. Male (race unknown. This was same race as the helmsman
from the Saratoga in Star Trek IV.)

CMO: Doctor <somethingorother>
Female Andoran (is that the race? The ones with the antennas)

Chief Engineer: Lt. <somthingorother>
Female Human. Completely different by being totally normal.

Couselor: Deanna Troi
Same person we all know and love, but this time in steamy
sexy scenes with Riker that make the censors have heart
attacks. (well, maybe not)

----------------------

Well, maybe not. Comments appreciated. Flames used to cook my dinner. :-)

My turn: Keep the Enterprise D, it's a nice ship. Fast forward a
decade. A new era of explorations in the direction of Borg space,
also the direction of Da Bugs (ref. "Conspiracy", season 1 TNG).
Captain? Lessee, we've had an Anglo-Quebecker play an American
Midwesterner and a British Shakespearean play a Frenchman ... Let's
get Sela Ward (Teddy in Sisters (NBC), Richard Kimble's wife in "The
Fugitive"), an American, to play an Argentinian. Thomas Riker on
board as the Chief of Security, frustrated in his career (note even
First Officer, let alone Captain; Will Riker's happenings a mystery to
fill in during the show and the movies). Jason Scott Lee (Bruce Lee
in "Dragon", the stud in "Map of the Human Heart" with Anne Parillaud
of "La Femme Nikita") as the second officer, Data as first officer,
Wesley Crusher as Chief of Engineering, a Lt. Cmdr. played by John
Cusack. Suzie Plackson back as Doctor Selar. Alexander is ensign,
token entry level of core cast and resident troubled young adult ...

Deanna Troi will be Counsellor, married to Tom but the marriage is
troubled ... she outranks him and it didn't matter until his own
career started to stall. Returning to the Enterprise is a bid for
Deanna to recapture some of her career's best days, and a chance for
Tom to resume his ambitions the way that it worked for Will ... No
stud act for this Riker, Jason Scott Lee's character takes care of
that. Data is now a woman ... he's experienced life as a male, wants
to try a human female before becoming an asexual android Horta in The
Fourth Generation; get the actress from "Mann And Machine" (this is
based solely on the reviews, have no idea about her or if she still
has a career); Data has to deal with assorted males falling all
over her.

This time, the Enterprise is a crew full of personal woes ... and
the exploration prolongs their agony by putting off chances for
personal resolutions.

Sela Ward will be the highest paid, despite "Sisters" ending after
third season (but viewed as a success); same fate for Suzie Plackson
but she needs a job as that show with Susan Dey will follow Dey into
oblivion or a Partridge Family Reunion. Frakes' finances will be
taken care of through the movie income as Will Riker continues on.

How about young and plain? Nah, could never happen.
