I JUST SAW STAR TREK AT THE UNITED ARTIST THEATER IN NEW YORK (44TH AND BROADWAY)
AVOID AT ALL COST. AN OVERHEATED SMALL BASEMENT ROOM, SMELLING OF
RANCID BUTTER WITH A SCREEN THE SIZE OF A TV. FOR $8.50
BIG RIPOFF

We should avoid ann United Artists Theater just for the one you went to?
I dunno, that doesn't sound like any movie theater you went to. Screen
the size of a TV? Are you sure you were in a theater, or was it in
someone's house? I've made that mistake too, although it didn't smell
like rancid butter. Smelled like nice dairy-fresh butter with freshly
baked biscuits.

Dan is undoubtedly exaggerating. But I have been to a UA theater in
Chicago that I have described in much the same way. The theater was a
small box-like concrete enclosure with perhaps 200 seats an a screen
that wasn't much bigger that the TV screen in some sports bars (although
it did have the proper aspect ratio for a movie screen). It was a
disappointing experience.

I didn't write anything about rancid butter with a screen the size of a
TV. For the record, the all-caps section was the quote of the previous
poster. I have never had any experiences with any kind of rancid butter
with the screen the size of a tv for $8.50, or any other price. That must
be the Butter-O-Vision? =}

Actually, I think $8.50 would be a fair price for that.
