This is a question concerning the original series (I hope this is place
for this). What was the exact quote when Kirk was offered some Tranya [sp]
by the captain of the mongo spaceship

1. Have some Tranya - I hope you relish it as I.
-- or --
2. Have some Tranya - I hope you relish it as much as I.

Also, what was the name of the episode?

thanks,

The episode's name was "The Corbomite Maneuver"

I think you'll find it was #2.

Although I don't remember the alien species being refered to as "mongo".
I thought they described themselves as the "First Federation", and the
ship as the "Vesarius (sp?).

I forget the captains name, and the name of the episode.

(Or does mongo mean "large"?)

Yes, I also believe that it was the second quote. The name of the
episode is "The Corbomite Maneuver," after the bluff Captain Kirk used in the
episode. I believe the captain of the First Federation's name was Balok, but
I'm not sure of the spelling.

Did you know that the little kid who plays the alien in Corbomite
Maneuver grew up to be an actor. He's the scuzzy little guy who
gets covered with radioactive waste and then splats against the
window in the first Robcop movie. I don't know his name.

Actually, that was Ken Howard, younger and not as talented brother
to Ron Howard. Ken starred in the "Gentile Ben" series, and then
pretty much flopped in his career after that....except for when
Ron uses him in movies like "Coccoon", or when he gets parts on
shows like "Space Rangers" where he played a doctor named Rimmer
or something like that.

Non-flame correction:

Make that *Clint* Howard. Ken Howard played the coach of a high school
basketball team in a 70's TV series from MTM (can't remember the exact title),
and played Thomas Jefferson in the film version of 1776. And the series Clint
Howard was in was NOT "Gentile Ben" - it was "Gentle Ben". Bears do not have
a religious affiliation, as far as I know. :) (then again, who's got the guts
to ask?) You're right about his career though - it mostly consists of
gratuitous guest shots in his brother's movies.

I believe it was spelled Fesarius.

I believe that the exact quote was #2. The ship was the Fesarius (of the
First Federation), the captain was Balok and the episode was "The Corbomite
Maneuver".
