Christmas trees are raised as a crop. There are not a bunch of crazed,
axe-wielding nuts out there raping the forests. And for every tree cut,
a new one is planted. This is a business, just like raising wheat or corn.
It is absurd to think that if no one buys these trees, they will sit there
exhaling oxygen for us all to breathe. If people stop buying Christmas
trees, that land will be plowed under and a cash crop will be planted there.
Think about that...

I'd just like to point out that putting "talk.bizzare" into your kill file
makes reading news much more enjoyable....

| Why do you post this here? Is this meant to be a joke??????????????
|You also posted this on News, Sex, Tasteless, etc. Why??????????????????
|There are more appropriate news group for this message (not that I don't
|agree with you, but many thought that this is meant to be a joke).

If you had looked at the "Followup-to: " header, you would have seen
that it included talk.bizarre, and misc.test. Roger Carrasso, t.b
extraordinaire, baits people all over the USENET society by posting
something that people will "Followup" to, therefore getting mail for
the next few days about how their post reached such-and-such site.
You and many others posted followups to RC's original message, and I
saw that you didn't take the time to edit your "Newsgroups" line.
Hopefully you'll learn something from it... That is, unless you like
to post to newsgroups that include misc.test and alt.test...

Besides, a live tree is a recyclable item. Once the Christmas
festivities are over the tree can be shredded and used for mulch or
compost or dropped into a lake to become fish habitats. As a scuba
diver I have seen several of these "habitats" while diving. They are
a haven for smaller fish.

So, use a resource that can be returned to the Earth for recycling
rather than that aluminum & plastic fake that eventually will reach a
landfill and "decorate" the fill much longer than any real tree would.

As always, this is just IMHO.
