Thanks in advance,
Alan Bick
Well, I was scanning the TV channels at 2:30am EST, and I stumbled on
the show. Unfortunately, it was near the end already but I did manage
catch a few things:
- Brent Spiner said (jokingly?) that he'll be in the ST:TNG feature film.
Then Patrick Stewart jested, "Don't spread that rumour!" They all laughed.
(It seems they're not sure if ST:TNG will last much longer but they
looked interested in signing on for the movie deal).
- Joan asked, "What is Space acting?"
Gates McFadden gave the cue, and they all started shaking and rocking
back and forth on the couch. :-)
- Dorn was known to give bad acting (so he said), and the other cast huddled
together and then tell him not to over-act.
I would also appreciate the rest of synopsis(tm?).

"What must I do to convince you people?" "Die."
It took almost the entire first half of the show to bring everyone out on
stage (each cast member was featured in a separate clip and responded to
individual questions from Joan). The basic topics for the interview were:
Patrick Stewart: His status as a resident alien and his remorse over not being
able to vote in the presidential election (he encouraged Brent Spiner to
campaign for CLinton). His experience with the Royal Shakespeare acting
Company, I Claudius, and A Christmas Carol. He also talked about working with
his son last year.
Jonathan Frakes: Discussed his long diastance marriage: Joan sent her best to
Genie and asked about the possibilty of Genie moving back to the west coast.
They talked about the accumulation of frequent flyer miles and high phone
bills ($400-500/month--each). Joan asked him if he ever gets lonely and goes
out with other people. Followed up with a question about other women (Frakes'
response about being a one-woman-man drew applause from the audience [I
mentioned the question to Frakes' father, who laughed]). He was also asked if
Riker will get his own ship. Response: "Not if it means giving up this job!"
Marina Sirits: Joan made joking references to the short, tight black dress
thatr Sirtis wore for the show. It turns out a neighbor of hers had died that
day after planting four cases of dynamite in her backyard. Sirtis was
evacuated from her house and had to go shopping for clothes to appear on the
show. She also discussed her husband (they showed a wedding photo), marriage,
commitment, and her lack of an engagement ring.
Michael Dorn: Talked about the Worf make-up routine and his hobby--flying.
He mentioned flying with the Blue Angels last year and plans to fly with the
Thunderbirds.
Gates McFadden: Talked about her last appearance on Joan Rivers: she entered
riding a unicycle and later found out that she was pregnant. She then talked
about her child--whose name she temporarily forgot (Frakes prompted her and
the others made jokes). She talked about how she hid her pregnancy and what
it was like to do a love scene while 71/2 months pregnant.
Brent Spiner Answered questions about Data, himsleelf, and aging with jokes.
Mostly he talked about his character and joked with the other cast members.
Groups questions:
Were any of them fans of TOS? Dorn.
What time period would most of them like to visit on the show?
Spiner and Sirtis: contemporary 20th century
McFadden: 20th century or ancient Greece
Dorn: 1940's
Frakes: 1920's (it was better for trombone players)
Stewart: Ancient Rome (which elicited questions from Sirtis as to why
he wants to wear a dress)
Would they like to see more sex on the show? YES (unanimously)

The only thing I didn't like about that interview was the BILLIONS of commercials that seemed to appear after every question!!!
I did enjoy seeing the non-acting side of the actors.
The was a part where Gates McFadden was talking about she was pregnant and
the futher along in her pregnacy she got, the long her smock got. Then she
had to do her first love scene while she was 7-months pregnant. That was funny
I find my self looking at some of the old reruns trying to see If I can see
through the smock.

Also, I didn't know Gates McFadden had a kid.. anybody have any idea what
season it was she was pregnant? Costuming did a great job hiding it..

Yup, turns out you were right. I was going out of my mind Monday
night wondering whether I'd missed it or not...:) I sure hope you set
your VCR for 12:30 instead of 1:30 AM; Monday night is the only night
it's on at 1:30 AM, according to WJLA's programming.
They even showed the promo for what was supposed to be the next
night's show, Hangin' Wit Mr. Cooper. Aaargh...idiots!
But, as for the show... Marina was looking FINE!!! Wow, I wish she'd
run out of clothes more often..:) When she made the comment about
wanting to go back into time to 20th century time so they could wear
normal clothes, those clothes, I was seconding that...

I must say, Frakes sure has a good looking wife... What soap is she
on again?

No, not lack of engagement ring, but lack of a "Rock." She had a
ring, just nothing flashy. That's funny that the dynamite thing
happened just that day - I had heard the story on the radio a few
weeks ago. Seems she lives under the Hollywood sign and the whole
neighborhood was evacuated. They even printed the street name.
None. Her contract on All My Children expired in June. Her character's
husband migrated to Loving a few weeks ago and still mention's Genie's
character, but there have been no guest appearances yet.

Excuse me, Mike, but she showed Joan her WEDDING BAND, and even stated that
she only had a wedding band. Hence, no engagement ring, with or without a
"rock."
