With much hyped Windows 10 has become ill-famed due to the privacy concerns all over the world and now people are now almost tilting towards Mac OS. Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 is the latest offering which will further enhance user experience. You can also download Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 InstallESD DMG.

Any suggestions as to what safe version I could use on a mac mini late2012 operating OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Which I am told is the latest version that can be used on this machine with the following characteristics:processor 2.3 GHzIntel Corei7memory 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3Start up disk el capitan 10.11.4 this is strange since 4 lines above it states OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536MB

Strange as it might sound, I have got Mac Pro early 2008. It works well though I can't upgrade beyond 10.11.6. Just for now, I have got a routine security update that suckes my old friend. After restoring it from backup i tried it again, now with the combo file: osxupdcombo10.11.6.dmg and that's what i get: " OS X El Capitan Update can't be installed on this disk. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." The volume was checked and was fine with "disk utility" and so does the backup disk (same notification)

If the mac has installed the latest security update, Security Update 2017-004 OS X v10.11.6 El Capitan then you will no longer be able to install the 10.11.6 Combo update as it has not been updated to include the security update. This may be why you are getting the error message.

There's two ways I've tried installing this apparent "update" for El Capitan: one from my apps update notices in the App Store and one from El Capitan update downloaded from the Mac website, "OSXUpdCombo10.11.6.dmg".

Well, then, why am I getting these system update notifications? Why am I not told what the problem is? I have enough disk space. I'm currently running 10.11.6 on a mid-2011 iMac with 12GB of ram. I have 200 GB of available space on my system drive.

Firefox version 78 was the last supported Firefox version for Mac users of OS X 10.9 Mavericks, OS X 10.10 Yosemite and OS X 10.11 El Capitan. These users were moved to the Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) channel by an application update. This was done to provide security updates until the final Firefox 78 ESR update (version 78.15.0esr) was released on October 5, 2021. Affected users will not receive any further security updates.

Although Apple does not have a public policy governing security updates for older OS X releases, its practice is to support the most recent three releases. Apple made the last security update applicable to OS X 10.11 available in July 2018. Unsupported operating systems do not receive security updates, have known exploits and can be dangerous to use, which makes it difficult to maintain Firefox on those versions.

For unfortunate reasons too tedious and mundane to discuss here, I am stuck with Mac/OS 10.11.6. I am looking for a version of Firefox that will run under that version of Mac/OS. I did the basic research and was directed Firefox version 78. After that, I was directed to the Extended Support Release. When I downloaded and ran that, I was directed to the Apple App Store where no version of Firefox could be found. Where to next?

Many Mac users like to make a bootable installer drive for installing OS X El Capitan, whether for performing a clean install, or for making it easier to install OS X 10.11 onto multiple Macs. We will walk through creating a bootable install flash drive from OS X El Capitan with the final public version.

thank you!! its working. some days ago i did the same thing to install yosemite but yeah a bit different commands. its the best ever way and method to install OS X using usb. its amazing. i am now gonna erase my os x and install fresh mac os x el capitan,
happy that this method works so cool

Since I used my keyboard hub (Mac Pro), decided to try with the USB directly attached to the back of my Mac: still same error; so, since I also happen to have 10.11.5, tried with that minor earlier version: createinstallmedia run works without the aformentioned error!

I did this, but every time I boot my Mac up with the flash drive, it goes straight to Recovery Mode. I was trying to go back to OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 after being in the beta, so I erased my hard drive and tried to do this.

SOLVED!!!
I face trouble in creating el capitan USB then i found this link to buy the USB,
They provide USB 16 GB with VERY EASY installation manual by which people like me can install El Capitan perfectly.

EI Capitan (10.11) is the last release of OS X. After it, the OS versions are under a name called macOS. From our observation, there are still many people using EI Capitan on their Mac as some of the apps are not running on macOS. Hence, if your Mac was something wrong with it and you need to create a bootable installation media to reinstall OS X EI Capitan on your Mac. Honestly speaking, it is a tough process for EI Capitan and you might receive errors when using the dmg file downloaded from Apple website.

This release uses Xcode 13.1 and experimental GNU Fortran 12 arm64 fork. If you wish to compile R packages which contain Fortran code, you may need to download GNU Fortran for arm64 from -project.org/tools. Any external libraries and tools are expected to live in /opt/R/arm64 to not conflict with Intel-based software and this build will not use /usr/local to avoid such conflicts (see the tools page for more details).

Always re-install XQuartz when upgrading your macOS to a new major version. This release supports Intel Macs, but it is also known to work using Rosetta2 on M1-based Macs. For native Apple silicon arm64 binary see above.Important: this release uses Xcode 12.4 and GNU Fortran 8.2. If you wish to compile R packages from sources, you may need to download GNU Fortran 8.2 - see the tools directory.
