No, there isn't a sequel to it.

Well there's sort of a sequel. One of the Buck Rogers sequels tries to
tie Lucifers Hammer in as the precursor to the aliens invasion. I
don't think it did a very good job. I also don't remember the exact
title or the author.

Actually there sort of was. Pournelle wrote several outlines continuing the
original Buck Rogers novel. I forget who actually wrote the books but there
are several references which seem to try to tie the book into _Hammer_'s
universe.

He/She was probably thinking of Ringworld. LH was a one book story.

Welll...not "exactly"...
Lucifer's Hammer was an "Act of God".
Footfall is a related idea - what if a bunch of aliens used rocks of
various sizes as a preliminary bombardment to "soften up" earth's defenses?

According to an article I read, Niven/Pournelle came up with the idea for
Footfall while they were writing Lucifer's Hammer - they tried to fit them
in one book, then decided to make it two completely separate stories.
For what it's worth, I remember a passage in the almost totally forgettable
"Buck Rogers in the XXVth Century" series that referenced "Lucifer's
Hammer" as the reason earth was so weak the aliens could take over.
Possibly, I think the author was trying to suggest that the aliens CAME to
earth on Lucifer's Hammer, but it was many years ago and I misplaced the
book on my way to the bunker during a Scud alert. Never did find it again.

But it might be worth remembering solely for the sake of actress
Erin Gray...but then I was 13 or something when the show was on
television! Whatever happened to Erin Gray? "Inquiring minds want

The Buck Roger's sequels (to Armageddon 2419) you are refering to are :-
Mordred John Eric Holmes
Warrior's Blood Richard S. McEnroe *
Warrior's World Richard S. McEnroe
Rogers' Rangers John Silbersack
I don't recall which one implies that they are in the Lucifer's Hammer
universe, but they are not a bad read if you just want mind candy.

* The cover notes on this one say Based on characters created by Philip
Francis Nowlan; from an outline by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle,
authors of Lucifer's Hammer

Wasn't Spider Robinson's rewrite of _Armageddon 2419_ part of the same
sequence? (I refused to read it so I don't know for certain).

Didn't Erin Gray go on to act in "Silver Spoons" with Ricky Schroeder?
And to my knowledge there is no sequel to Lucifer's Hammer.

In the original _Armegedon 24** (Can't recall the date)_,
it is discovered at the end that the Han came from space originally.
I seem to recall that they used a meteor or somesuch for transport
but IMS (and its been 25 years since I read the book) the Han took over
the world after a catastrophic global comflict weakened Europe and
the US.

I think the author had written himself into a corner: 'all
men are brothers' was one part of the book and 'the Han are evil,
exploitive bastards beyond redemption' was another, thus the extra-
terrestrial origin for the Han.

You know, China-bashing is back in season: a Buck Rogers
film which puts the rise of China over the world in the early 21st
fly. You could even have a disruptive world war to give them edge.

Not a sequel per se, but _Footfall_, by the same authors, reworks many
of the same ideas. Perhaps that's what the Other is thinking of.

Although a sequel to Hammer would be interesting to many of
those on this ng, it's not the kind of book that SF writers Niven or
Pournelle would find interesting to write.

I don't know/haven't heard anything about that one, the above list and
Nowlan's original are the only ones I've read or heard about.
