I'm looking for great books on fantasy art. More in the tradition of
large coffee table books. The best hope would be for a collection of
Hildebrandt art, but I haven't ever seen such a title in print. A
collection of TSR art would be good also or any other titles in this
similiar vein. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

In fact, there is a book collection of the brothers Hildebrandt art
which includes much of their works with descriptions and some artist
information as well. The book may simply be titled "The Brothers
Hildebrandt" or "The Art of...." And of course there is "Worlds of
Wonder" a collection of one of my favorite sci/fi fantasy artists,
Michael Whelan. I am pretty sure that there are also book collections
of works by Frank Frazetta, Boris Valejo and others, but you may have to
look in the used bookstores for those. Most of the fantasy art
collections I have seen in print now are the newest Tolkien renditions,
calenders, etc..

Good Luck,

I believe "Worlds of Wonder" was an earlier Michael Whelan book.
The latest that I'm aware of is "The Art of Michael Whelan", which came
out a few years ago. Lots of great stuff in there. I bought two limited
edition prints of his "Sentinels", one for myself and one for a friend.
I really should get a print of "Passage: The Red Step", too, since that
was what really got me into MW.

I seem to remember a trade paperback book from the 80's called
URSHURAK that was "written" by the Bros Hildebrandt, and had lots of
illustrations.
