The title says it all. I've seen Heinlein-esque quotes from this guy
scattered around the net. He does seem to be a parody of Lazarus Long
(and god knows, Lazarus needs parodying...) so if there's any more of
Solomon Short beyond a few quotes, it would be interesting to hear about it.

Solomon Short is the primary epigrammatic mouthpiece in David Gerrold's
_War Against the Chtorr_ (first book: _A Matter For Men_). One of his
quotes heads up every chapter of the books. I suppose that one day
someone will collect them all into a single collection....

Indeed, it is a parody ;) Created by David Gerrold for his Chtorran
series, there are quotes in the 3 books so far out, and another book on
the way.... Solomon Short is, in the books, someone who posts some
quote everyday on the "world net" in the book...

BTW, Gerrold writes JUST like Heinlein... :) The book is something
like Starship trooper, mixed with tunnel in the sky, mixed with
a few other Gerrold influences.... T'ain't tribbles...

Solomon Short is indeed a parody of Heinlein's Lazarus Long. You'll find
his quotes in David Gerrold's War Against The Chtorr series...

A Matter For Men
A Day For Damnation
A Rage For Revenge
A Season For Slaughter (coming in mid-1992)

It's a good series, I recommend it.

Solomon Short's been around a lot longer than the Chtorr books have.
DG had a column in the first few dozen issues of Starlog magazine, and
at least two of those columns were SS quotations. Can't get any more
specific than that, since I don't have those magazines around any
more.

Another magazine I can't locate is an early 70's issue of Analog which
had two pages of quotes from "Magdelane More" (sp?). I've always
assumed that these were by editor Ben Bova; can anyone confirm or
deny?
