Solomon Short is the primary epigrammatic mouthpiece in David Gerrold's
_War Against the Chtorr_ (first book: _A Matter For Men_). One of his
quotes heads up every chapter of the books. I suppose that one day
someone will collect them all into a single collection....

BTW, Gerrold writes JUST like Heinlein... :) The book is something
like Starship trooper, mixed with tunnel in the sky, mixed with
a few other Gerrold influences.... T'ain't tribbles...

Solomon Short is indeed a parody of Heinlein's Lazarus Long. You'll find
his quotes in David Gerrold's War Against The Chtorr series...
A Matter For Men
A Day For Damnation
A Rage For Revenge
A Season For Slaughter (coming in mid-1992)
It's a good series, I recommend it.

Solomon Short's been around a lot longer than the Chtorr books have.
DG had a column in the first few dozen issues of Starlog magazine, and
at least two of those columns were SS quotations. Can't get any more
specific than that, since I don't have those magazines around any
more.
Another magazine I can't locate is an early 70's issue of Analog which
had two pages of quotes from "Magdelane More" (sp?). I've always
assumed that these were by editor Ben Bova; can anyone confirm or
deny?
