I never read that story, although it sounds like it inspired many of
Captain Kirk's dealings with computers in the original Star Trek.

But I'm reminded of a story I did read, where a man talks to a
computer, and the computer argues that computers in charge of
controlling traffic lights, since they're responsible to keep
pedestrians safe, should be able to physically restrain people who try
to cross when the light is red.
