You're going to find a good bit in Urban Fantasy.

I think Richelle Mead's books would fit. One series is about a Succubus,
so you can obviously see the possibilities there, but her Dark Swan books
have a bit of heat as well. They are also pretty good books.

Also, J.F. Lewis's _Staked_ & _Revamped_ vampire gonzo books have quite
a bit of sex and are often very funny. (The first one in particular).

Karen Chance's Cassandra Palmer & Dorina Basarab books often descend, or
ascend into sex farce as well.

Try Robert Silverberg's The World Inside and Tower of Glass.

Phillip Jose Farmer had a variety of books that should fit the bill
(or go further). Books like _Lord Tyger_, _The Lovers_ and many
others would be worth trying. See <http://www.pjfarmer.com/> or
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Jos%C3%A9_Farmer> for other
works.

You might try _Dhalgren_, by Samuel R. Delany. I also seem to recall
that _China Mountain Zhang_ has some such scenes, but I didn't really
like it, and it's been a long time since I read it. _The Number of the
Beast_, by Heinlein, has some sex scenes. Possibly _A Knight of Ghosts
and Shadows_ by Poul Anderson, but I'm not sure on that one.

Well, if you like that, you ought to plow through Anderson's closely
related Polesotechnic League stories, followed by his Flandry stories.
The one that I mentioned above is one of the last of the latter. Well
worth while, even if I turn out wrong on that one.

Sex scenes in Poul Anderson? What's the URL of your universe?
I don't remember anything other than implied (he's an agent of the
Terran Empire, she slips him an aphrodisiac, they kiss, scene ends).
That would be like steamy threeways in Clifford Simak books.

_Jurgen_ doesn't really meet your specifications, and you probably
wouldn't like it, but it *was* banned for obscenity at one time.

Was that for the chapter that involved him running around in the
halls, waving his staff back and forth? That was a hoot! If I recall
correctly, it even had what sounded like a defense brief against
just such a banning.

Well, this one
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/To_Outrun_Doomsday>
(Kenneth Bulmer, 1967) I remember as being pretty hot. Mainly because
the protagonist was... enthusiastic. And the setting provided
contraception, for reasons which you may find out.

Actually, if you don't want to stay with the characters past the
traditional three asterisks, James Blish's _Star Trek_ adaptations are
quite warm. I'm not sure now how much of that the show itself got
close to and how much is Blish. Some of the sexual politics is quite
outdated, but hey, you mentioned Gor (where latterly the explanations
of sexual politics are almost the only interruptions to the sex), so
you might even get through "Mudd's Women", or the story that
demonstrates why there are no women starship captains ("Turnabout
Intruder").

Some more, original Trek novels are pretty hot - and of course that's
where "slash fiction" comes from although that may not be what you
have in mind.

If you want a lot more on-page sex away from Trek, the first(?) at
least of Diane Duane's "Door Into..." novel series has a lot of social
sex, referred to as "sharing". As they say, share and share alike.
And often bisexual, I think: but it's not like it's under my pillow.
You may find that the actual story is, well, if you don't like the
book's plot you may forgive it.

Oh, and webcomic _Girl Genius_ comes from the same household as
_Xxxenophile_, which is available for money as PDFs in plain cover.
(That actually probably isn't true.) _Buck Godot_ is also for
adults. _What's New_ is for "gamers", take that as you please. GG
itself doesn't quite get into the bedroom but you can read it online
for free - keep reading as far as Castle Wulfenbach and full colour,
if, come to think, you aren't already interested enough by what
heroine Agatha Clay quite innocently wears in bed, and then out of it.

A lot of us like _Girl Genius_ for many different reasons - not only
the many "I admire your enthusiasm but shouldn't you get dressed
first?" moments. (Ask Dorothy Heydt for the page numbers. No,
perhaps don't.)

I've been sort of hoping for a while that someone would read and
report on this Susan "Got my professional start writing Trek books"
Wright trilogy:

* Slave Trade
+ 1 Slave Trade (2003)
+ 2 Slave Masters (2004)
+ 3 Slaves Unchained (2005)

...mostly because I have a hunch that the report would make for good
reading. Back-cover blurb for the first book (lifted from its
amazon.com listing; no way did I type this in myself):

Human slaves can never defy their alien masters -- or can they?

Rose Rico never believed the rumors, that the government was secretly
selling human beings to the Alphas in exchange for advanced alien
technology. The idea that human sex slaves were a luxury item
throughout the galaxy was just too ridiculous to take seriously --
until Rose found herself, along with hundreds of other human captives,
bound for the far reaches of space, and compelled to cater to the
depraved desires of her new alien masters.

As a rule, pleasure slaves don't live very long, especially the
stubborn ones. But Rose refuses to give up. Someday, somehow, she'll
win back her freedom -- or die trying!

The beginning of a provocative new saga of slavery and rebellion.

Hmm, I see that she's now writing sometimes/always as "S.L. Wright."
A move away from her past?

Actually, that series wasn't as explicit as the series that followed.
To quote the author's Web page, "My next novels are erotic fantasy,
and I do mean erotic. Readers have asked for more graphic sexuality in
my stories, and I aim to please" (http://www.susanwright.info/
qa.html).

Besides, she is "the Founder and Spokesperson for the National
Coalition for Sexual Freedom, a national organization committed to
protecting freedom of sexual expression among consenting
adults" (http://www.susanwright.info/).

_Confessions of a Demon_ is book one in an urban fantasy series -- a
popular niche at the moment -- so naturally there is romance involved,
but the sex doesn't seem to be particularly explicit, at least
according to Amazon.com reviews.

I always finish my book, but I couldn't drag myself through this one.
The language was pretty enough, but the characters lacked any kind of
definition in my opinion, but my major problem with this novel was that
the heroine instantly, and I mean instantly, fell in love with her More...

S&M should not be this boring.

I borrowed this from a friend, who even admitted herself that she
couldn't bring herself to finish it. I wasn't even stalwart enough to
get to the point were she gave up in frustration. When I'm reading
through a laundry list of kinks, More...
and the scenes they're portrayed in are so bland that I'm not stimulated
on any level? You've done something wrong.

But perhaps the first hurdle I wasn't able to surmount were the NAMES in
this dismal book. Lexander? Hel*a*na? A god named Loji who gives birth
to an eight legged horse? Exsqueeze me? Is it just me, or did she just
pull an Eragon here? We just change one letter in a common name, and now
all of a sudden, it's exotic and otherworldly? Wrong! But yes, the
Eragon reference is deliberate, because this is purple-shafted prose on
a par with the teenaged writer of that equally lame book.

How the writer of this is receiving so much acclaim for such a
lackluster title, is just evidence that the kinky community has little
else to heap it's accolades upon. So of course, the lackluster get to be

I say "Yikes" to a book review that goes "Torture at worst, and not
the good kind of torture". But god names do vary depending on what
language you're using, so Loki (who I don't remember as Sleipnir's
parent, but there it is), turns up in some well-known opera as Loge.
(Another name that might surprise its supposed original owner is
"Jesus".) And in recent Marvel Comics, Loki has been female - and
from day one has been a 'mare.
