In some denominations, while women may be modest about their dress,
and not wear *fancy* hats, as there does happen to be a Bible verse
which commands a woman to cover her head in church, it is in those
denominations taken seriously.

That was St Paul - a typical Middle-Eastern who assumed that any woman
not covered from head to foot was inviting rape.
