The Golden Crane

To introduce myself first before presenting views seems appropriate. A 61
year old man, work in technology and and a big reader of most all genre
including SciFi and fantasy (obviously) I have only read WofT this year. Oh,
I read Eye years ago but never followed up( or was even aware of) the
series.But I,ve read it all now, most of at least twice and have many of the
usual complaints with it.
However
What I would like to say in this post is that IMHO the author achieved a
shining moment with the chapter The Golden Crane. The second half leaves me
deeply emotional EVERY time I read it.Hope the new guy can pull it off.

This chapter was chapter 20, pp 415-436 of Knife of Dreams, book 11.

Nynaeve deposits Lan in the westernmost part of the Borderland nations
and tells him to charge towards Tarwin's Gap and accept in his army
anyone who volunteers. She then goes from town to town saying "My
name is Nynaeve ti al'Meara Mandragoran. My husband rides from
World's End toward Tarwin's Gap, toward Tarmon Gai'don. Will he ride
alone?".

I can imagine Lan's Ride being broadcast live on CNN, with Anderson
Cooper riding beside Lan interviewing him about the Last Battle, and
also interviewing Nynaeve. I can imagine Nynaeve taking out full page
ads saying "Lan Mandragoran, the Uncrowned King of Malkier, rides from
World's toward Tarwin's Gap to Tarmon Gai'don. Will he ride alone?".

I can imagine Lan complaining "Why is everyone and his brother
following me all over the Borderlands?".

Nynaeve should try to get some Asha'man and/or AS to join Lan's army.

Lanfear: A phobia about Local Area Networks or Uncrowned Kings of
Malkier.

What does Lanfear fear?
