Verin in TSR

I just skim TSR a bit. And found that just before the battle of
Emond's Field, Verin ask Perrin:
"When are you going to give this (Perrin's axe) up for the hammer?"

Obviously Verin was referring to the Wolf King part of the prophecy.
It's no surprise that she knows about that. And she assumed Perrin
is the Wolf King already. It surprises me that Jordan buried the
line for....seven books?
