Xena - how old is she?

I figure she is crucified by Caeser at age 17 and becomes evil.
Building an army takes a few years. She also is into heavy duty training.
She builds an army and they start stealing, slaying etc. I would state
that the establishment of this army takes about 3 - 4 years.
At 21 she has an affair with one of her underlings and she gets pregnant.
After about 5 years her reputation has expanded into the Centaur community
and she and her army are feared.
At 22 she decides to give the child to Centaurs.
Also when Callisto was 7 her parents were killed. In Armageddon 2 its
established that her army was established. So i would think Xena would
be about 20 - 21 at this time. Callisto first appears as an adult at the
age i would say of 20 - 21 which is 13 - 14 years later.
I think when Xena and Zolan meet again Xena has to be about 34 - 35.
Anyone come up with a different age?

Well, as far as I can tell, your numbers are probable. The thing is, I
doubt that TPTB have really given much thought to her age or any real
timeline from show to show. I mean with the way they bounce around Europe
and Asia, I wonder if they have a lear jet, or maybe beaming technology.
Of course, that said, I really don't let it bother me. "Willing susension
of disbelief" and all that rot. <G> After all, it IS fiction. Not only
that, it is fantasy fiction. They can pretty much do what they want within
the rules that they have set up for their world.

Davis Taylor played Solon, in Orphan of War and Maternal Instincts. Like
many others he's a RenPics regular, appearing with LL in Hercules and the
Amazon Women as that child who was the son of one of the Amazons and the
bloke with the straggly beard who goes to fetch Herc. I think he was called
Franco.

I would say she is a younger than 34. Maybe about 30-31.
Although Solan look older, I seem to remember a comment in
one of the shows which implied he was about ten when we first saw
him. Also, Callisto was definately not 7 when her parents were
killed. In the Hercules episode Armageddon, when Callisto goes back
in the past and tries to prevent her parents from being killed, she
meets herself. She looked about 16. (Some of Callisto's statements
don't match what was shown in that episode, however).
Another clue to Xena's age is that in one of the 3rd season episodes,
Gabrielle remarks that they have been traveling together for 3 years.
(Gabrielle was clearly supposed to be about 17-18 and newly betrothed
when she and Xena first met. So Gabrielle is now about 21)
To summarize:
I would agree with you age 17 for Xena being crucified.
She gives birth to Solan at age 20.
She kills Callisto parents at age 24
She meets Gabrielle at age 27-28 (first season)
Meets Solan again at age 29-30 (second season)
and is now age 30 or 31(third season).
This chonology would make Callisto about 20 when we first saw her as
you stated.

I agree that some statements on the show implied she was quite young
when her family was killed. But no way did she look 12 years old
in the Armageddon episode. I might go for 15 but not younger. Also,
at the time Callisto's village is wiped out, Xena clearly has obtained
all her skills and has raised her army. This must therefore occur
some time after she came back from Chin. If Callisto was
only 12, then there is not enough years between then and when
we first see her in the "Callisto" episode to make her as old as
she appears to be.
I would guess there are other contradictions I don't know about, so
we can probably never come up with an exact answer. TPTB probably
don't care too much that they are inconsistent between episodes.

sons age, etc... I'd say Xena is in her mid-late 30's; a woman in her
prime! Callisto is more likely in her mid-late 20's and Gabby, well, I'd
say early 20's. Of course, this is just my opinoin. I could be wrong.

It's one thing for the show to use events that occurred centuries
apart, and another for Xena's own life experiences to seem
free-floating. It doesn't seem unreasonable to want to know how old
she was when she first went to China, had her child, etc.

Just watching the Destiny episode, it says that when Caesar broke her legs,
it was '10 winters ago'. At that point, she'd already been at it for a
bit... Then add another year or so from the Destiny ep to bring things
current. I'd say you're close - 30. Probably, they are making it close to
Lucy's actual age.
