As an addendum to this, I think the TNG ratings when it was originally on
the BBC were around 2 million an episode. This is not however, any kind
of "official" rating and it may well be different know that TNG has resumed
on the Beeb. I don't know what the viewing figures were whilst it was on
Sky.
To put these in some kind of perspective, the top rated shows on the
network channels generally get around 10 - 13 million viewers an episode
out of a total population of around 50 million or so. I guess multiplying
our figures by 5 will give you a (very) rough comparison with viewing
figures from the States
