My hypothesis is founded on the peek into the future we got through _Babylon
Squared_, and the multiple clues dropped here and there. Here goes:
First of all, we have to rememeber the centauri Woman's prophecy in _Signs and
Portents_, that the station would be destroyed. Likely it is destroyed by the
Shadows. So, with B5 gone (sniff, sniff) the show will no longer center
around the station, but around the survivors, and the war of Light and
Darkness.
Also, Zathras said that, "The One tells us to go, we go..." which implies that
Sinclair has attained a high rank in the galaxy, and not just among the
Minbari.
At the end of _Babylon Squared_ Delenn says, "We have to go; they're waiting
for us." 'They' could be anyone, but I suspect that she is referring to the
Grey Council--and that Sinclair is now the leader of it! Yes, I realize that
that is a very big assumption to make. but I think I can support it.
1) We know from Delenn's friend, Draal, that "there is unrest at home...the
division between the religious and warrior castes is part of it...but you can
feel the change in the people in the streets..." All of which seem to indicate
that the people need a new leader, or are unhappy with the one that the Grey
council chose to replace Delenn, after she backed out. Possibly her move was
seen as an act of selfishness...a move which people are beginning to take
on themselves?
2) The warrior caste acted on their own when they displayed the Shy Ha'Liit's
(I don't know if that's spelled correctly. sorry jms) body in _Legacies_,
indicating that that they are beginning to break away from the dictates of
their superiors. Anybody who's had anything to do with the army (my colors
are beginning to show) knows that when the troops begin to make their own
decisions, mutiny's only a short step away! The warrior caste needs a strong
hand.
3) Deathwalker remarked that the Wind-swords talked incessantly of Sinclair,
and that "...they are right to fear you, Sinclair...". Who better to lead
the Minbari than one who is feared by the Public Enemy Number One group?
4) the Shy Ha'Liit's ADC (whose name escapes me) remarked that Sinclair thinks
"...like a Minbari...!" Another recommendation!
5) Sinclair has already shown that he can command a city of over 250 thousand.
That's only a few steps away from leading a population of a planet.
So, how will Sinclair be reintroduced? To my mind, he will return as the
leader of the Minbari people, and probably the Field Marshal in the War
Against the Shadows.
But, that's just my theory. Is it close, jms?
Comments, anyone?

Yes, I agree so far, with one small addition. Geribaldi (sp?) actually
destroys B5. In the B^2 flash-ahead (where Sinclair and Geribaldi are
fighting on B5, presumably the Shadows), I think Geribaldi tells Sinclair
that he's set the fusion reactors to blow-up. Check your tapes folks.

This kind of re-introduction is very possible.
But, I dissagree with the idea that Sinclair eventually leads the gray
council. Zathrus described the war (in his time) as being utterly
devistating. In the (Zathrus/future Sinclair) time period, I suspect that
All of the home-worlds (including Earth) have bit the dust. [Otherwise,
why go to all the trouble of pulling a space-station into the future?]
Future Sinclair's rank may be something like
commander-of-everybody-left-alive.
Just my opinion.

One point about 'hiding' your space station in the Trojan of a
major planet.
I'm the bad guys. I send my drones out to likely hiding places
as soon as I arrive.
Once I figure out where the planets are the Trojans for the planets
is HIGH on the search list.
Not a good place to hide - too obvious a place to look.

The only way you'll know if this was close, is if the real show (after
JMS is now forced to rewrite it) is nothing like your theory.
How's that for a self fulfilling prophecy?

Except that Draal's statement was made in AVitW1 which was before Delenn
turned down the leadership position in B^2. At the time of Draal's
statement, the Minbari were still in mourning (or at least the GC hadn't
reached a decision on who to name leader). This doesn't mean that the
Minbari people feel the traditional waiting period is too long, or that
they're unhappy with other decsions the GC made. It could also mean
they're going thru the Minbari version of the 1960's.

It's possible, that in the absence of an overall leader, the GC does not
have complete control over the Minbari government. There may be a
military equivilent of the GC which has control over normal military
operations, which could include the funeral of great military leader.
The GC may have more of a say in the waging of war. The GC may have
been able to force a Minbari surrender at the Battle of the Line due to
their greater power during wartime, the lack of a formal Minbari leader,
and the strength of Valan's prophesy.

Huh? I'm under the impression that the Wind Swords are a sect of the
Minbari Warrior Cast. Maybe they're not the most popular sect, but they
haven't been declared outlaw, although Delenn threatened to do so.

I'm not disagreeing, I just think some of your logic is faulty.

Sinclair could be pulling the station to the time just after B5 was destroyed.
Perhaps even to a point just before. It would be a fine place to evacuate the
B5 personel to. And the enemy is depleted from the destruction of B5. What
sort of shape will they be in to stand against a fully operational, totally
undamaged B4? (Wasn't B4 bigger? Does bigger = stronger? Does B4 have
fighter craft aboard?)

How about a cometary orbit nearly perpendicular to the plane of the

If you are referring to the scene in which she rings a fairly full peal
over Neroon, you are, I believe, misremembering: Neroon is a
Star-Rider, as was the Shai 'Alyt; the Wind Swords are the militant
sect that sent the assassin in "The Gathering."

If you really wanted to go off on a tangient, why don't you park the thing
in orbit around a black hole? Sure your insurance will skyrocket, but
you'll be hidden quite a bit, people won't want to come speeding towards
you, and you have a nice power source. (Or would you be able to tap power
from a black hole while orbiting it?)
