Greetings, Mr. JMS.

While I do applaud you for making your recommendations, and I do sincerely
hope that you will continue to do so, you made a mistake or two in the
Ellison Trek Book post.

For starters, you made no indication why you are posting the information in
the Babylon Five group. Believe it or not, some folks don't read the
credits, and thus have no idea that Ellison is the creative consultant for
Babylon Five. A prefatory statement such as "Here's a heads up for a book
coming out. As many of you know, Harlan Ellison is the creative consultant
on Babylon Five. However, many moons ago, Ellison wrote the script for one
of the original Trek's best episodes, 'City On The Edge Of Forever.' Now,
here's the book that yadda yadda yadda."

Secondly, the post looked too much like a press release (read advertising)
from the publisher, and not like something you would write. It sounded too
much like "Buy This Book." Not good for long time Usenetters.

Your post did give me the heads up on this book, and I look forward to
purchasing it when it comes out in the stores (considering that I can't
affford the $75 for the limited edition). It just was the delivery that
blew up in your face. ;(

Oh well. Looking forward to October.....
