We made our own bed. By telling BCTV we wanted it, they've optioned the rights
to it so no other station in BC can air it. BCTV is behaving much like its
boorish network, CTV. Kind of funny really -- the only Canadian content I
watch comes from CKVU (U-Tv) and the CBC and the specialty channels. I don't
watch anything on CTV except ER.

My question is -- why can't this happen to ST:Voyager? :-)

I don't believe there's any cause to get worried yet. BCTV has paid for the
right to broadcast B5. They have told me that although B5 will not be on
their fall schedule at the beginning, they will play it at some point. This
makes sense to me; after all, they did shell out good money for broadcast
rights. It would be stupid to just throw that money away by not playing
the show.

Besides, it's only July. Things could change drastically in the next
couple of months. (fingers crossed)

We received the same letter. Oh well, now I only watch CHEK-6 for the
local news and nothing else....

For those of us lucky enough to have KSTW Bellingham on their cable
lineup we should send KSTW a letter supporting them in their
continuing showing of B5 - maybe even ask for a better timeslot than
Saturday at 4pm! :-)

I send you my condolences, but in winnipeg the only way we can see
babylon 5, and this includes the past 2 years, is to get a satalite feed
from WSBK Boston. What has this contry come to?
By the way, just out of curriosity, how many times is Star Trek on? (any
of them.)

Apparently, the best peron to write to is Roy Gartner, VP of programming at
\BCTV, who makes all the decisions anyways...

I received a reply back from Roy Gardner. From what he says in
the letter, CHEK6 / BCTV is still retaining the rights to
broadcast the show - they are not going to show it in their fall
line-up.

I don't know for sure what this means except that they might
night show episodes at the regular start of the season (in
September), but begin to show new episodes when new eps are
actually delivered.

So, they've bought and paid for episodes, but they're not
planning on airing eps in September.
