We accept that Kosh has hands. The point was that he was wearing the
encounter suit and the poison had no way to get inside, The suit is
seakled agaiunst the atmosphere, so a poisonous liquid should not have
been able to penetrate.

There's an idea!

Perhaps someone sabotaged Kosh's suit and the assassin simply activated a
poison capsule that had already been placed inside?

Any other ideas as to what happened?

: The Griffin.

Recall Signs and Portents for a moment. Recall a brief meeting between
Morden and Kosh. Recall that, shortly after, Kosh ordered new parts
for his damaged encounter suit.

It certainly is an intruiging hypothesis.

Chrysalis and Gathering spoilers and speculation:

Q: How did the poison enter Kosh's suit in "The Gathering" (and why did
Lyta "see" a bare hand?)

I still favour the idea that Kosh was persuaded by the assassin to remove
part or all of his encounter suit. Kosh did this because the assassin
appeared to be Sinclair. We know that Sinclair is significantly involved in
The Prophecy. We know that Kosh has at least some insight into this. We
know that Delenn, another major player, persuaded Kosh to open his suit in
"Chrysalis". We know that the Minbari assassin knows about Sinclair's role
in The Prophecy ("There's a hole in your mind")...
As I suggested before:

"Sinclair": Kosh, I have spoken with the Grey Council. It has started,
sooner than expected. Before I play my part, I would like to
see you as you really are. I would like to be sure.
Kosh: O.K. [opens suit]
"Sinclair": Now I am sure. Will you shake my hand before I must depart?
It's an old Earth custom implying mutual respect.

...and the rest we saw...

Hmm.. I dunno. Makes more sense than my explanation does, but I'm such
a Kosh fan that anything which implies he's of less-than-demigod status
makes me uncomfortable. :-)

True!!!

Yeah but I doubt that. It is far more likely that Minbari's have had previous
contach with the Vorlons... perhaps they share knowledge or something!
