Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
I am an occasional lurker on this newsgroup and I must say it is great to
see this place still alive and active. I can't wait for TLT.
Well, I don't know if you buy very many DVDs, but the Babylon 5 set is
well worth it. That isn't because of spectacular special features, or
anything like that, but just because it's B5, the best SF story every
told. It's cheaper now than when I bought it. I've seen it in
second-hand stores for as little as $30 per season. I still consider the
$60-$65 per season that I spent to be a good investment.

Anything is possible, but I doubt there are any plans at this point.
Depending on what happens with "B5: The Lost Tales" (which may start
out direct-to-DVD, may find a TV home before it starts, may get a TV
pick-up if the DVDs do well) somebody may well show renewed interest in
the original series. But we won't see the first 3 "Lost Tales" until
next spring at the earliest, so this won't be happening any time soon.
The DVDs, on the other hand, have never been a better option. <g>
Deep Discount DVD has them for $43.55 each with free shipping.
And Warner Bros. has a rebate program for their series boxed sets.
Hang onto your receipt and mail in the proof of purchase and you'll get
$40 back for buying all five sets. (Buy another WB season set and you
can get the maximum rebate of $50) So you'd practically be getting one
season free and spending about $35 a set. That's a buck-sixty an
episode. Hard to beat that. The VHS tapes were about $7.50 per. <g>

Joe

Well, I know this is probably some illegal unpopular way of doing
things, but I think there's some winamp streaming tv station that
cycles through the series every couple of days that goes continuously,
as well. Of course...I forget how to find it. The DVDs are a nice
investment otherwise.

Probably illegal? Definitely illegal.
And, it's not polite to encourage piracy of the series on the newsgroup where
the creator of the series hangs out. Why would you want people to steal
money from JMS?
If everyone streamed the first installment of the new series illegally, sales
would look pretty poor, and that would very likely be it for any future
installments. So, if you're a fan of B5, it's not only impolite to encourage
piracy, it's also _stupid_.

If you can't afford the DVDs (and at this point, you very well might,
especially if you are willing to get used ones), check your local
library. Many of them have the entire run in their DVD collections.

There is the AOL internet tv, which has some of the episodes
running. At least it was so last spring when I was still in the
States. And my guess is that they would be legal.

Maybe they can take a cue from the rehabbed Original Star Trek episodes and
go back and redo all the B5 episodes with optical model effects and
non-synthesized music. That way the people who just can't take CGI effects
today can enjoy the series.

Battle Creek does. :)

Warner Bros. is the copyright owner. Are you talking about who has the
_broadcast_ rights right now? I don't think anyone has them licensed from WB
at the present time -- I'm sure SciFi's rights are long expired.
