"Tributes have begun pouring in for veteran actor Edward Woodward who
died today.
The star who was best known for his roles in The Wicker Man and The
Equalizer was 79 ......"
Since I grew up in the 1980s I'll never forget him as _The
Equalizer._
Refined and capable, a true Englishman. If Peter Woodward is any
indication he must have been a heck of a father too.
R.I.P.
I will always remember him as Harry "Breaker" Morant, and, of course,
as Alwyn, the Techno-Mage, in CRUSADE.
Regards,
Joe

"Shoot straight, you bastards - don't make a mess of it!"
Magnficent film. Makes a nice companion piece to "Gallipoli". Throw
in "The Bridge on the River Kwai" and you have a nice "Madness of War"
Trilogy (British Empire Division.)
Regards,
Joe
Hmm. Breaker Morant. Yes it has been a while since I saw it too.
Perhaps UK TV will show some of Edward's films over the next few
weeks.
Incidently I just found out my Gt Grandad's regiment / batalion was at
Gallipoli too, but I digress.
Dave
For me, it's Sgt. Howie from "The Wicker Man." Love that film.

Indeed! I've also heard that Christopher Lee has said he considers
that his favorite role.

You, too, hey?
I especially like his comment that heathen might be more accurate.
