Thanks, but you're about an hour or so late. JMS just posted the official
obituary for TMoS on this newsgroup. :-(

Took several years before the first Star Trek movie premiered... and that
one had a %99.9 guaranteed large audience whether the originals were in
it or not (smaller but still large), studio backing to one degree or
another, and alot of people working to get it made. Very simplified all
this is and from mr joe blow. But just to show how even ultra big name
projects have a hard time getting made.

That's an unfounded assumption.

Except that none of those people (the TOS cast) _were_ ultra big names at the
time of the first film.

None of this has anything to do with whether I _think_ a B5 film will ever be
made (of course I do), nor with whether I _want_ a B5 film to be made (of
course I do): I'm just correcting the misinformation in your post.

They were not huge but important enough (maybe a better way to say it) in
the sense that the characters were well known and I expect similar
arguments were made about whether to recast or develop new characters.

Just saying here that even projects with more support take time to make
and are not guaranteed. IIRC one of the biggest stumbling blocks was
getting Leonard Nimoy. Its a bit ironic. In that case there would have
been less support unless all the originals were included (fans excepted),
while B5 is the opposite.

But in the end, if its misinformation then then so be it... but there is
no disinformation ;o)
