JMS,

I notice on IMDB that "Ninja Assassin" is getting some exposure in the next
couple of weeks at Fantastic Fest and Vancouver International Film Festival.
Will you be going to any of those? What do you think of the few reviews that
have come out so far?

And is it cool seeing your name on the big screen?

Thanks,
Jan

No plans for any of the festivals at the moment, I'm too buried under
work. And it's cool any time I see my name anywhere, and it's spelled
right....

If they were smart, they'd just spell it "jms". Much easier.

spelling 'stars in sky' incorrectly and phonetically with a russian

agreed to attend only to find out he'd be flying across the country.

Presumably you've seen the final version, any thoughts on how it came out?

It's a little early for the year-end round-up but is there anything you can
share about your TV pilot and "Shattered Union" and any other 'too much' you've
got going on?

Based upon JMS's current work load, I would have to assume that his

Based upon current workload, I it will probably be 2014 before he

Jeez, what's the sense of doing these high-profile projects if you can't even
pay off one little sniper? Send Buddy out with a white flag on his tail and a
number of very large bill tucked under his collar. I'm sure it'll work out.

Assuming, of course, that you *want* to leave the house.

Actually, I had a vision of Buddy crouching on the roof over the
front porch, just waiting to pounce if Joe tries to leave the house.

Of course, even if the studios were paying Buddy to enforce Joe's
house arrest, they'd have to get him *onto* the roof in the first
place, which would be a major challenge...

Y'know, my wife is slowly turning into you. It's almost become routine
for her to show up from her day job with
"Hican'ttalknowIhavetogetthissceneonpaper!"

But she /does/ get them on paper, and follows on to get them on stage,
and that's the main thing.

Certain to give a false sense of security that way. <g> Or he might be like my
two who protect me when somebody knocks by growling (very softly) at the door as
they run to hide under the bed until the stranger is gone.

I see the Hollywood premiere of Ninja Assassin is on the 19th. Maybe if JMS is
good and writes his little brains out this week the sniper/Buddy combo will let
him go to that.

There was a story on a local TV newscast the other day about how
easy and inexpensive it is these days to set up a home security
system that allows you to keep an eye on your house from work
via the Internet. They showed an actual video of a burglary that
the homeowner spotted in progress; the video ends with the police
coming in and arresting the perpetrators. But what was really
funny to me was that there was a cat sitting in the foyer calmly
watching the burglars walk back and forth through the house.

For some reason, when one of the burglars hears the cops arriving,
he picks up the cat and takes him off-camera. But a couple of seconds
later, we see the cat running through the house, so he was fine.

I thought guard cats worked by laying on the floor in the middle of a

Cats don't lie on the floor; they lie on whatever is the most important piece
of paper/book/household item/piece of clothing you need at that particular
moment. As soon as you no longer need it, they get up and go and lie on
something else.

OK, historically "this is what I'm getting" posts have the weirdities
filtered back out at the site where the original post came from, but the
above _should_ show the links you sent with a lot of interpolated junk.
Alas, the =3D are the only bits I am sure are such... and even when I
remove them the site still insists the address is wrong. Could you help
me decode it in some fashion, or else post a tinyurl, instead?

You mean preemptive pun prevention? I don't think anybody would nit
