Hi, all.

The G'Kar facial prosthetic is being auctioned yet again on eBay.  I think
this is the sixth or seventh time the seller has tried to sell it. This
time, instead of a first bid of $2000, he's got a low starting bid and a
reserve price, which I'd estimate is at least $1000.

You can see the item here: http://tinyurl.com/u6zzw

I'm asking the same thing I asked last time: the chance to give this piece of
television history a good home (which seems more important now that Andreas
is gone, and since no one else will ever wear that face or speak for G'Kar
again). What I'd like is for a consortium of fans to get together, buy this
item, and donate it (either under all their names, or anonymously if any
contributor prefers) to the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle.

I'm looking for as many fans as are willing to contribute $125 each. However
many I get, I'll place a bid for a little less than our total (in order to
allow a little extra for premium postage+insurance from the seller to me, and
premium postage+insurance from me to the SF Museum).

I won't place the bid until I have all of the money in hand in a PayPal
account, so here's what I'm asking: if anyone would like to do this, e-mail
me privately at the address above and let me know, as soon as possible.
Please don't send any money yet, and please don't e-mail me if you aren't
sure, or if you'd like to do it but don't have the money.  The only people I
want to hear from are people who definitely can and will be able to
immediately put $125 towards this effort.

Assuming a reasonable number of people are interested (I think we'd need at
least fifteen, considering the previous prices on this item), I'll give you
all my PayPal address, and will make the bid as soon as all the money is in
my account. If we do not get the item (either because we haven't met the
reserve, or someone -- unlikely! -- outbids us), I'll return your money to
each of you in full.

Please note that the auction ends SOON, on Sunday, Dec. 3., so if you're
interested, do not delay in contacting me!

Of course, this couldn't come at a worse time for me, budgetarily speaking.
I just acquired a B5 crew jacket last week, and another auction ends tonight
on something I _really_ want to win, and will likely have to break my budget
to get. Sigh.

Thanks for considering this, and I look forward to hearing from some of you!

Amy

Hi, all,

We have nine folks willing to pony up the $$$ for this item already. We only
need a couple more to make this work. So many meaningful pieces of the
show's history have been snatched up by private collectors, or worse, dealers
-- this is a chance to give a piece of the show's history the final resting
place it deserves. A place where fans can walk up to it, and see it, and
maybe even have their photo taken next to it.

You might look at your contribution as a gift to the fan community. Andreas
gave us all the tremendous gift of his talent, and his incredible
performances in the show; you might look at your contribution as a way of
honoring him for that huge gift.

Remember, if you're interested and have the money ($125 each), please e-mail
me at the address above so I can add you to the list, and start coordinating
our bid.
