I'm really looking forward to the chronology in the upcoming B5 magazines. Can
you tell us how it will be set up? There are various 'canon' items that
weren't actually shown on screen (books, comics, magazines) and I wondered if
they will be included and annotated as to the source? Also, how many issues
will it take?
Thanks, as aways,
Jan
I think it'll be stretched across 2-3 issues. The thing can't quite be
explained as you've outlined the question here, it really kinda has to be seen.
It incorporates a LOT of stuff from various sectors into a detailed timeline
that has been checked and cross referenced with our material to ensure its
accuracy. It's real nifty.

A short bit about it in the December issue says it'll run to 12 parts.
That implies 12 issues, but of course it's possible that they could
simply be muddling the standard publishing definition of "parts". ;-)

The "coming next month" section of the magazine reports that it's a
12-part series! You've seen it. Is it really that huge, or are they only
printing a small portion of it each month?

Well they got from the Big Bang to 1996 in the first instalment. It
lasted eleven pages, so for reason I doubt it'll take up twelve issues
(unless they go into detail for each ep to add to the rest of the
chronology).

B5 magazines? Tell me more.
Thanks.
The Official Babylon 5 magazine is a UK publication that if you look long and
hard you can find in the US about a month after it comes out in the UK.
It's got interviews with cast and crew, recently did articles from on the set
when Crusade was being filmed and a column by JMS.
Word is that beginning in the next issue will be an in-depth chronology of the
B5 universe. JMS thinks it's "nifty". No certain word on how many issues it
will span-the mag says it's 12 parts but JMS thinks it may only run up to 3
issues
There are past issues available from www.thestation.com (the fan club site but
you don't have to be a member to order). As far as I've heard they don't have
a US subscription house so far but there is subscription info in the mag.
Hope this helps,
Jan
Got the first issue with this in last week on Subscription (I live in the
UK). Very detailed and informative. Nicely presented as well.
Part one took up about a dozen pages and took us from the First Ones to
around the present day.
I would assume going at this level of detail we are talking another issue
per season and so on. So perhaps 12 issues wouldn't be that far off the
mark.
Going by this first part a collected edition on glossy paper when the
serialisation is over might be a nice collectors piece.
