black skin and electric orange eyes captured them and fixed and powerered them
up (C3Po and R2D2) to sell to Owen and Luke at the Skywalker farm.
I may of course just be loony.

No doubt because as far as droids go, C-3P0 seems both clumsy and unlucky.
Probably this is a replacement to a section damaged sometimes in the
episode I-III timeframe. This would be kinda nice to see. Kinda like how
Indy got is scar, whip, Fedora, etc in Indy III.

The little guys are Jawas and I don't remeber C3PO's leg being knocked
out of joint in ANH, although he did lose his arm during the escapade with
sand people. Other than that I don't know why his leg is silver.

I would just like to tell everyone that my views have changed a little on the
ideas of collecting the toys in their "MINT" conditions. Someone posted, or
mailed me how impressive it looks when you have a full wall covered with the fi
gures in their packaging. My mouth began to water. As of this moment, I
solemly swear to not only buy loose figures and toys to knock around, but will
also purchase unopened things (reasonably priced) as well. I think I'll sell
some of by Baseball cards to help finance this. Anyoone interested in an '84
Fleer Update Kirby Puckett?
Since I've seen that people leave quotes from the movies, I guess I'll put in
one of my favorites:

His leg is probably a component of the Wikkit Gate. It was given to C-3PO
so as to hide it from the lethal Krikkit robots. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Come to think of it, he _does_ have a lot in common with Marvin. Brain the
size of a planet, and they make me carry out the trash! Nobody appreciates me!
In fact, the only real difference I see between them is that C3PO _does_ seem
quite a bit more cheerful than Marvin. Sure, he worries about everything, but
that's not quite the same as moping and saying everyone hates you. Maybe his
leg _was_ part of the Wikkit Gate....

Oh, I agree... the silver leg fits right in brilliantly... however, can
anyone confirm whether the leg was deliberatly made to look silver for
this "knocked-about" reason, or was it due to a lack of a gold leg when
filming/creating Threepio?

I doubt it has anything at all to do running out of paint, because all they
would have to do is buy some more. Surely by the second movie they could
have afforded to buy more. 8^)
I believe it goes with George Lucas' vision of a used universe. Spaceships
weren't clean and perfect and neither was C-3PO. Maybe in the first
trilogy we'll see how C-3PO got the silver leg, ala Indiana Jones getting
the scar, whip, etc.

I think it would be kind of cool if the first Trilogy had some element in
it that made us think about the Star Wars Trilogy in a different light.
Something that would make it necessary to have the final Trilogy to
answer the questions the element raised. What I am thinking of is
something like the Emperor having died and been brought back cloned in
the first Trilogy. This would get everybody thinking that he really didn't
die in Return of the Jedi, so ... But it doesn't necessarily have to be
this. It could be anything. Like Leia and Luke really weren't brother
and sister or Boba Fett was a droid, or anything. Do you know what I
am trying to say? I just think this would be kind of cool.
But I'd also like to have an understanding of why thier are Jedi and they
do what they do. Any thoughts?
