Does anybody know how to submit original material to Lucasfilm Ltd? I
am constructing a SW novel and have mailed a letter to the
aforementioned company; but have received no response at yet.
If you can help me, PLEASE contact me ASAP
Thanks
Dave Whitwell.

I would bet you'd have better luck contacting the publisher not Lucasfilm.

They don't take unsolicited submissions. Lucasfilm/Bantam's official
policy on writing SW novels is to first write a bunch of successful
novels on your own and then have your agent call them.

Lucasfilm has almost always has a policy of completely ignoring
unsolicited material....mainly because they've always been barraged
with such works.
As previously posted, you'd have better chance (in other words,
better than no chance) of succeeding in getting someone to notice,
much less devote time to read, your work if you go by way of the
publishers. Publishers, too, get swamped and often follow a similar
policy as Lucasfilm (you MAY have your letters seen by some assistant
of the publisher, as opposed to Lucasfilm).
I don't mean to sound so harsh, but that's how the industry is,
unfortunately. It'll take a lot of hard work, or a lot of dumb luck too
get where you want to be. But here's hoping for you anyway :).
PS.Could you send me an e-mail with a little info on your novel.
Even though you haven't told me much about it, I'm sure it must be
interesting if it's Star Wars.
If you write them, DO NOT SEND YOUR SUBMISSION IN FIRST! Simply state your
intentions, and list your PUBLISHED writing credits, if any. A sample of
NON-Star Wars-related fiction helps. If they like what they see, they'll
send you the "Star Wars Style Guide", which you should follow to the
letter. Then (and only then) will they actually *read* any Star Wars stuff
you send in. Lucasfilm policies forbid them from doing otherwise.
How do I know this? Because I went through the whole process. Barring any
unforseen disasters, my story for the _Star Wars Adventure Journal_ will
be appearing in issue #7 this fall.
