I'm not sure about the movie but in the book Star Wars when Han and
Luke knock out the Stormtroopers boarding the Falcon I noticed a THX-1138
reference. After the Imperial Commander notices the Stormtroopers away
from their posts he tries communicating with one and says the following
lines.

IC: THX-1138 whay aren't you at your post? THX-1138 do you copy?

Has Lucas made references to his THX-1138 film in any other films?

Sigh.... Perhaps this should be added to the FAQ Jake... yes, Lucas manages
to get a THX reference into most of his films, the most obvious being American
Grafitti (the license plate on Paul LaMats car) and Indiana Jones and the
Temple of Doom (the ObiWan Cafe) and BTW, in the film, you'll notice the
reference was changed from the stormtropper to when Luke finds Leia in
cellblock (or whatever) 1183.

I don't know for sure, but I think I saw THX-1138 on the back
of a license plate in a scene in American Graffiti. I think
it was on the back of Harrison Ford's hot rod.
But I think that license plates only allow 3 characters on each
side of the dash so, if memory serves it showed up as THX-113.

Also, as a side note, If you watch Temple of Doom,
you'll see, at the first of the movie, when Indy and
his blonde bimbo are being chased through that oriental town,
with "short-round" driving, you'll notice that they speed by
a night club named "Club Obi-Wan".

Well, he may say that in the book, but in the movie he says TK-421,
why aren't you at your post?

But, in the movie, Luke DOES say as they are delivering Chewie to
the detention area..."Prisoner transfer, cell block 1138."

Um, guys, I hate to burst the bubble here, but in ANH (at least in
my version of it), the Stormtrooper's code is "TK-421," not "THX-1138."
I don't know if that's just my version or whether people are hearing it
wrong, but...

Apparently, in Raiders, INDY takes a boat and the registration number is THX
1138 (apparently). I guess it's George's version of Hitchcock's appearing as a
cameo in each film.

I've got another one...

In Dark Horses's Classic Star Wars: The Early
Adventures #1 on page 2 an Imperial Navy
Officer says, "The THX alert is buzzing, sir!"
to Vader. On the next page Vader proceeds
to walk through a door with a sign reading
"THX" above it.

In this string, someone mentioned the car in Indiana Jones and the temple
of Doom passing by a club named the Club Obi-Wan. Well, that is THE club
he was in the entire opening sequence.
But there is a better little thing in the opening sequence to that movie.
The sailor in that rickshaw is the producer of the movie, and the director
and the executive producer are a coubple of Arabs at the airport. The
director being Steven Spielberg, and the exec producer being George Lucas
himself.
And the airport managar is Dan Akroyd.
See what you miss if you don't pay attention.
